Will Ospreay, a major signing for AEW, recently responded to comments made by WWE’s Triple H. Ospreay’s bold and direct approach caught attention, especially after his initial comments, which appeared critical of Triple H

During a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show as part of WWE World, Triple H discussed his approach to hiring new talent for the company. He mentioned that many performers choose other promotions over WWE because they offer a lighter schedule. This insight sheds light on the decisions wrestlers make when considering their careers and work-life balance.

“When I see people coming out of trying to make it, and then they pick a job where, well, they work less, the schedule is lighter, then I’m like, ‘I’m glad I didn’t pick you.’ If you’re not in it for the grind, at that point early in your career, you have no business being here.”

As seen on a previous week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay would directly respond to Triple H’s comments and took quite a few personal shots at The Game for good measure

Will Ospreay’s comments at the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum, following his highly acclaimed match against Bryan Danielson, revealed his feelings about a recent verbal spat with Triple H. Kaden Lee of WrestlePurists asked Ospreay whether his match at AEW Dynasty silenced the controversy surrounding his earlier comments. Ospreay’s response showed a shift in his approach to public disputes with WWE and its management.

Ospreay acknowledged that his earlier remarks might have been misinterpreted and clarified that he had no intention of continuing the back-and-forth. Although he was not mentioned by name, he believed that comments made by Triple H were directed at him, which triggered his initial response. However, after reflecting on the impact of his words and the unnecessary tribalism they created, he realized that engaging in such public jabs was counterproductive to his goal of focusing on his work at AEW.

In the scrum, Ospreay explained that he no longer wished to engage in this kind of discourse, preferring to let his in-ring performances speak for themselves. He recognized that his earlier comments might have fueled unnecessary hostility between wrestling promotions and reiterated that he wanted to focus on promoting AEW without participating in any further verbal altercations with other wrestling entities or individuals.

“Yes, of course. I don’t want to address it anymore. I can remember a generation of when I grew up where like, you throw a jab, I throw one back. Although I wasn’t mentioned by name, it was clearly about me. All due respect, I’m kind of done mentioning anyone over there now. I don’t want to do that anymore because I feel I lowered myself to that standard. I don’t need to do that anymore. Look what I just did in the ring with Bryan. That’s only match two from pay-per-view. I’ve got a f***load more to go down. With all due respect, if you take everything into consideration, of course I’m annoyed about a jab that I took. I threw one back, I don’t think it was anything bad. It’s a joke from 20 years ago for f*** sake. Don’t be too butthurt. That’s the first time I’ve ever experienced true tribalism between the two. It’s not nice. It’s unnecessary. I’m over it. I can’t be bothered with it. I just want to be focused on promoting AEW. I don’t regret what I said. You take the entire thing into consideration, it did piss me off, but from this day on, I won’t go down that road. I don’t need to. I’m the best wrestler in the world. I don’t need to f*** with guys below me.”

Even Eric Bischoff wished Will Ospreay didn’t take jab at Triple H. Regardless, Will Ospreay is clearly done with the whole situation now and that is all that truly matters at the moment.
