The fans in attendance at AEW Dynasty in St. Louis, Missouri, were treated to an intense and brutal encounter, featuring one of the most hard-hitting matches in AEW history. This contest saw a perceived teacher face off against his pupil, with no rules to hold them back, leading to an unexpected and dramatic conclusion.

AEW veteran Chris Jericho battled against HOOK, a rising star and former tag partner, with HOOK’s FTW title on the line in a match where anything goes. Jericho, known for his experience and cunning, seemed to have the advantage against HOOK, the cold-hearted Handsome Devil. With no rules to limit them, both wrestlers went all out, using foreign objects like tables and chairs to inflict maximum damage and gain the upper hand.

Despite the brutal assault, HOOK demonstrated incredible heart, kicking out of two of Jericho’s finishing moves during the final moments of the match. However, Jericho’s experience and fury ultimately proved to be too much for the young challenger. In a dramatic climax, Jericho brought his signature baseball bat into the ring and ordered HOOK to stay down. Yet HOOK, displaying defiance and resilience, refused to back down, leaving Jericho no choice but to strike him with the bat.

With HOOK incapacitated, Jericho pinned him to win the FTW Championship, ending HOOK’s reign and proving that the veteran still had what it takes to dominate the ring.

We will have to wait and see how AEW will book Chris Jericho as the FTW Champion, as it could have as much significance as his reign as the ROH World Champion from 2022.
