In the world of professional wrestling, few talents have risen as swiftly and impressively as LA Knight. From his humble beginnings as an enhancement talent, Knight has evolved into a important figure on the main roster, pulling-in audiences with his charismatic persona and stellar in-ring abilities. Despite all his success, AEW veteran and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross believes WWE could do better with Knight.

In the latest “Grilling JR” podcast, Jim Ross shared his thoughts on the WWE WrestleMania XL event and discussed the performances of various wrestlers, including LA Knight. While Knight is regarded as one of WWE’s emerging talents, Ross has expressed doubts about completely embracing his role.

Ross explained that while Knight has received positive reactions from the back office and fans, he personally hasn’t fully bought into the persona presented by LA Knight. He emphasized that his comments aren’t intended as criticism but rather a call for further exploration of Knight’s character to improve audience engagement.

“LA Knight is one of the favorites of the office. I haven’t totally bought into his persona. Not to say it in a bad way. I haven’t seen him do anything that I didn’t like. I just gotta feel it more. They gotta do a little bit more character development to get me to buy into who this dude is and why I should give a sh*t. He’s got a good future ahead, no doubt about that.

My goal would be to get the best matches that you can in the ring. LA Knight can talk and he can take bumps, he can feed a comeback, the same as a lot of guys. That’s what you look for. Can you mechanically execute what is needed to be done? All the guys we talked about here today…they can all do that.”

Ross believes that with the right character development, LA Knight has the potential to establish himself as a prominent figure in WWE’s history. Looking ahead, Knight’s trajectory in WWE seems promising, with indications suggesting that he could be in line for a title shot at the upcoming pay-per-view event. It remains to be seen how his story unfolds! Stay tuned to Ringside News for more!
