Vince McMahon’s departure from WWE due to ongoing legal battles, including a trafficking lawsuit, has not severed his connections with prominent figures in professional wrestling. Notably, he continues to maintain relationships with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena. In fact, it appears that The Rock and Cena have faced criticism for their continued association with him.

On January 25th, Janel Grant, a former WWE staff member, filed lawsuit against WWE, John Laurinaitis, and Vince McMahon, alleging sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking incidents dating back to March 2019. The allegations have cast a shadow over McMahon’s reputation and prompted significant criticism and condemnation from within the professional wrestling industry.

As previously reported, Vince McMahon remains in contact with TKO board member Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, even as McMahon navigates his ongoing legal troubles that led to his departure from WWE. He also keeps in touch with John Cena, which many fans didn’t find surprising either.

Brandon Thurston took to Twitter and reported a new comment from a spokesperson for Janel Grant in response to NBC’s reporting that Dwayne Johnson and John Cena continue to stay in touch with Vince McMahon after his resignation from WWE. The spokesperson stated that what The Rock and Cena are doing is simply shameful.

“It’s shameful that Mr. Johnson and Mr. Cena would associate themselves with an individual with decades of allegations just like Janel’s. Behind-the-scenes support is louder than any public statement ever could be.”

Vince McMahon no longer receives vocal support within WWE, but it is clear he has moved on from the company now. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether The Rock or John Cena will end up releasing a statement after they just got called out.
