Baron Corbin Expresses Strong Temptation to Venture into MMA or Boxing

Baron Corbin, renowned for his tenacity both inside and outside the ring, has been creating ripples with his recent comments regarding his passion for combat sports.

Despite his WWE commitments, Corbin’s background as a former NFL player, Gold Gloves boxer, and jiu-jitsu competitor speaks volumes about his multifaceted skill set and competitive drive.

During conversation on the Johnny Dare Show, Corbin delved into the topic of the WWE-UFC merger, emphasizing how it adds an extra layer of legitimacy to the world of wrestling. When prompted about the temptation to step into the octagon, Corbin didn’t mince words, expressing a strong desire to test his skills in combat sports once again. He revealed, “I’d love to step back in the octagon and do some of that stuff.” His recent ventures into jiu-jitsu competitions and training sessions with UFC fighters were cited as evidence of his itch to compete at a high level.

Discussing the visceral experience of combat sports, Corbin acknowledged the allure of getting punched in the face, stating, “There’s something about taking a punch to the face that just gets you going.” He emphasized the mental fortitude required, noting, “You have to be mentally strong to get punched in the face and keep moving forward.” Corbin drew from his own experiences grappling with seasoned black belts, remarking, “It’s amazing what your body can go through.”

However, Corbin drew a distinction between casual gym-goers and true competitors, stating, “There’s a difference between a gym rat and a competitor.” He emphasized the unique mindset and determination of those who step into the ring or onto the mat to compete, noting, “You have to be willing to say, ‘I’ll take that punch.'”

Despite the physical and mental toll, Corbin finds solace and fulfillment in the pursuit of combat sports excellence.
