WWE NXT ushered into a new era for the company with their developmental roster reeling the effects of the change that is upon them. Moreover, the first edition of NXT following the end of WrestleMania 40 week saw a high stakes match announced for their upcoming special event, NXT Spring Breakin.

The final segment of tonight’s edition of NXT saw Trick Williams appear in front of the WWE Universe in attendance at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, following his huge triumph over Carmelo Hayes at NXT Stand and Deliver.

Williams made it clear that with the culmination of the main event match with Hayes last week, he now has his sights set on the NXT championship and its title holder, Ilja Dragunov, who made his way out right after.

Initially declining the offer to defend his title against Trick, Ilja Dragunov changed his mind and accepted his challenge for NXT’s upcoming two-week special event, NXT Spring Breakin, but with one stipulation to possibly have Trick Williams back out from the match. Ilja stated that should Williams fail to dethrone him for the title, he would be forced to leave NXT.

Trick Williams, not flinching a bit, accepted the Mad Dragon’s stipulation, but both men found themselves attacked by Carmelo Hayes, who stood tall with the NXT title indicating that it was still his goal to become champion and things were far from over between himself and Trick Williams, being scheduled for a Steel Cage match next week on WWE NXT.
