Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is known for his iconic ring gear, which often reflects his passion for video games and results in striking costumes. However, there was an instance where Omega’s elaborate gear posed challenges during a match, potentially hindering his performance.

During a recent Twitch stream, Kenny Omega shared a memorable incident from his time working for the Wrestling Retribution Project. Omega, portraying the character Scott Carpenter, faced off against Luther, known as Father Dante in WRP. In the midst of their match, Omega executed a flawless shooting star press to his feet after tossing Luther out of the ring. However, the match hit an unexpected snag when people behind the scenes began calling to cut the cameras.

As Omega approached Tommy Dreamer, who was overseeing the production, he was bewildered as to why the cameras needed to be cut. Dreamer then bluntly informed Omega that his wardrobe malfunction, specifically his exposed genitals, necessitated the interruption.

“Tommy Dreamer was the person to say cut the camera,” Omega said. “I go over to Tommy and I’m like ‘Tommy, what the f***?’ He goes ‘Kenny, we’ve got to cut it,’ and I was like ‘WHY?!’ and I’m standing up to Tommy like ‘WHY DO WE HAVE TO CUT IT?!’ and he goes ‘Kenny your b**** are hanging out.’ I looked down, fish hooked my tights, and that was it, that was my wardrobe malfunction.”

Omega explained that he was wearing traditional black trunks for the match, as WRP hadn’t provided him with custom gear for the Scott Carpenter character. Had he been outfitted in appropriate attire, the awkward situation might have been avoided. Nevertheless, Omega has owned up to the embarrassing situation and that is all that matters.
