For many years, John Cena has been a central figure in numerous significant matches and moments at the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All.’ From winning championships to even proposing at a WrestleMania, Cena’s WrestleMania legacy is undeniable. However, Cena recently revealed that he also had a featured match that was cut short compared to the initial plans.

On his TikTok account, Cena disclosed that his Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Big Show and Adam Copeland (formerly known as Edge) at WWE WrestleMania 25 on April 5, 2009, was cut short.

Fans may remember that the match preceding Cena’s was the legendary encounter between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. While Michaels and ‘The Deadman’ delivered an unforgettable WrestleMania performance, the Triple Threat Match, unfortunately, had to be shortened due to time constraints.

In his reflection on TikTok, Cena addressed WWE’s decision to cut short his WrestleMania match and expressed gratitude to his opponents, Edge and The Big Show, for their cooperation.

“…Those guys had a long match, which means you got to find the time somewhere, which means they took a lot of time away from this match. Yes, taking time away from your match happens at every level. I want to thank my opponents, Edge and The Big Show, for being so calm and collected and adjusting what we needed to do, and still being able to take some high-risk and give the audience some crazy moments.”

In case you didn’t know, fans are hoping John Cena will appear at WrestleMania 40 after he confirmed his status for the event and he is even waiting for an invite. We will have to wait and see if he will make his way to WrestleMania 40 somehow.
