Bayley wants to see women main event both nights of WrestleMania weekend.

In recent years, women have broken barriers by headlining WrestleMania events. The trio of Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair kicked off this trend at WrestleMania 35, while Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks continued the legacy by main eventing night one of WrestleMania 37. However, there’s a growing sentiment among fans that a women’s title match should take the spotlight at WrestleMania 40, as Bayley faces IYO Sky and Becky Lynch challenges Rhea Ripley.

During an interview with Alex McCarthy and The Daily Mail, Bayley shared her thoughts on the possibility of her and IYO headlining WrestleMania. The Role Model questioned why women couldn’t main event both nights of WrestleMania 40.

“I would never say that the women shouldn’t be main-eventing a WrestleMania, especially at the calibre of Rhea and Becky. Becky has had an insane career already and Rhea, her rise has been so quick. Fans love her. But she’s still so young. Rhea, you got time to main event WrestleMania some other time, because this year is mine and IYO’s year.”

“This year has been the role model’s year, starting at Royal Rumble, OK? And I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’ve been fighting for this for a long time. Becky’s had her main event spot, so it’s time for the role model, ding dong hello Bayley, to take this main event spot. You guys can have the first night and I’ll take the second night. You know, we can do that. You never had two women main event both shows at WrestleMania. Why can’t it be this year? It’s the biggest WrestleMania of the year. With all due respect, I would like to take that spot. Rhea, you’re very young.”

On the March 22nd episode of Friday Night SmackDown, IYO Sky ambushed Bayley backstage before her match against Naomi. Bayley also recently shared her thoughts on Mercedes Mone’s return to professional wrestling.

What are your thoughts on Bayley’s bold statement about wanting to see women main event both nights of WrestleMania 40? Do you agree with her sentiment that this year should be hers and IYO Sky’s, or do you believe Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley deserve the spotlight? Share your opinions in the comments below!
