The recent return of The Rock to WWE generated considerable excitement, momentarily overshadowing the anticipation surrounding Cody Rhodes’ appearance at WrestleMania 40. Despite its brevity, The Rock’s comeback captivated the audience, commanding full attention during this noteworthy return.
The Rock’s return to WWE has been nothing short of spectacular, as he takes on a heel persona reminiscent of his 90s character and The Hollywood Rock. Aligning himself with The Bloodline and pledging allegiance to Roman Reigns, The Rock’s presence is electrifying, captivating audiences with his dynamic performances and commanding presence in the ring.
The Great One took to Twitter and uploaded a video, where he provided a fiery address. The Rock laid out his plans for WrestleMania, specifically targeting Cody Rhodes’ mother Michelle Rubio. He made it clear that she wouldn’t be receiving the Universal Title on Night 2; instead, she would receive a different belt – The Rock’s belt.
This belt would symbolize toughness, adorned with elements like leather, the Brahma Bull, and the essence of blood, sweat, and respect. The blood component would be attributed to her son’s belt, as The Rock vowed to defeat Cody Rhodes and smear his blood and sweat all over the belt.
”Here’s what’s gonna happen at WrestleMania, The Rock wants your momma to have a front row seat. Mama Rhodes, The Rock is talking to you, now you’re in The Rock’s crosshairs. Here’s what gonna happen, Mama Rhodes you’re not going to get the Universal Title handed to you on Night 2 of WrestleMania. You’re gonna get a belt handed to you, it’s gonna be The Rock’s belt. It’s gonna be something like this, leather, Brahma Bull, blood, sweat, respect. The blood part, that’s gonna be your son’s belt, it’s gonna be all over this belt.”
With a mix of taunts and bravado, The Rock promised to hand this belt, stained with Cody’s blood, to Mama Rhodes, triggering tears and questions from Cody’s fans. He envisioned Mama Rhodes seated ringside, witnessing her son’s defeat and addressing his crying fans.
Ultimately, The Rock asserted that there were only two options for Mama Rhodes: accept the outcome or embrace it, as WrestleMania would culminate with Cody crying in a pool of his own blood, nestled in his mother’s lap.
”I’m gonna take this belt Momma Rhodes and whoop your son, I’m gonna whoop him like a dog. I’m gonna get all of his blood and sweat on this belt and whoop him in front of the world. I’m gonna take this belt Momma Rhodes, full of your son’s blood, and hand it to you. I’m gonna say, ”Here you go Momma Rhodes.” You’re gonna be crying just like your son, just like all the Cody crybaby fans. You’re gonna be crying ”Why are you so mean to my son, Rock?”
”I’m gonna give you this belt and say ”Momma Rhodes, here’s your belt. Now down is the direction you can sit and look at your son in the middle of the ring, bleeding and crying, look at all of his Cody crybaby fans. And tell them off is the direction you can f*** and that’s how you end the story and that’s how your story will end at WrestleMania boy, crying in a pool of your blood, sitting in your momma’s lap. And Momma Rhodes, there’s two things you can do about it – nothing and like it.”
The Rock will definitely have a lot to say about Cody Rhodes on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, especially after the slap Rhodes gave him. It remains to be seen how The Rock will continue to make Rhodes’ life a living hell.
