The rivalry began much before Trick Williams realized and came to fruition at NXT Vengeance Day when he was betrayed by his former best friend.

The heated feud took another major step when Carmelo Hayes blindsided Trick Williams with a sneak attack on the following episode of NXT right after his spectacular bout with NXT champion Ilja Dragunov, putting him on the shelf for several weeks.

Williams returned the favor by reemerging back to the NXT landscape last week and attacking Carmelo Hayes just after Trick’s entrance music cost him a chance at the NXT championship.

The popular NXT star came to this week’s edition of the show to address the ongoing issues between himself and Melo and put challenge for a one-on-one clash at NXT Stand and Deliver to settle the score once and for all.

Carmelo Hayes took to his X to break his silence in a cryptic fashion regarding the challenge with a Ludacris GIF.

With the huge match expected to be made official in the coming weeks before NXT’s pay-per-view show, it would surely prove to be an instant classic as years of friendship come head-to-head at one of NXT’s biggest events of the year.
