WWE and AEW are known to subtly name-drop superstars and events on their respective televised programming every now and then.

This week’s edition of Monday Night RAW saw an instance one level above when AEW star Buddy Matthews’ image was shown on WWE’s flagship show. The company promoted the recent UFC 299 where Murphy and his real-life fiance Rhea Ripley were in attendance to witness the show and dropped a photo together on social media.

WWE commentator Michael Cole acknowledged the WWE Women’s World champion on live television, while his broadcast colleague Pat McAfee tried to break through the fourth wall by asking Cole who Ripley clicked with.

Buddy Matthews took to his Instagram stories to acknowledge his presence shown on WWE television programming with a series of emojis based on his Wolves tee and Rhea’s expressions.

Buddy Matthews is currently embroiled in a feud with Mark Briscoe alongside his House of Black faction, while his fiance, Rhea Ripley is slated to defend her women’s title against The Man Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia next month.
