Following The Young Bucks’ significant setback at AEW Revolution last week, recent developments indicate a noteworthy shift in dynamics within the All Elite Wrestling landscape. The introduction of Kazuchika Okada aligning with The Elite introduces a fresh element to the unfolding story. Notably, the identity of the person behind Okada’s heel turn has been revealed.

During the March 6th episode of AEW Dynamite, Kazuchika Okada made his shocking debut, inserting himself into a face-off between AEW Triple Crown champion Eddie Kingston and the Young Bucks, who also hold executive roles in AEW.

Contrary to expectations, Okada did not come to Kingston’s assistance. Instead, he shocked the audience by betraying the Triple Crown champion and aligning himself with Nicholas and Matthew Jackson, officially becoming the latest member of The Elite faction.

According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, it was reported that AEW did not hesitate to debut Kazuchika Okada as a heel. Okada’s original successful run in Japan was characterized by his portrayal as a charismatic and entertaining heel.

Despite Okada’s inherent likability and movie-star looks, all parties involved, including Tony Khan, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks, agreed that his initial run in AEW should commence as a villain. This decision was reportedly a direct idea from Tony Khan himself.

”Per sources, there was no hesitancy in AEW about debuting Kazuchika Okada as a heel. His original big run in Japan came off of being a great playboy heel. People will likely still cheer him because he’s so likable and possesses movie-star looks, but all parties… Khan, Omega and the Bucks, and Okada all agreed that his run in AEW should start as a villain, which was an idea that came directly from Khan.”

Kazuchika Okada has been added to the AEW roster already as well. In the coming weeks, AEW’s booking of Kazuchika Okada will unfold, leaving fans eagerly anticipating how Tony Khan’s company will utilize The Rainmaker in various capacities.
