AEW Revolution Zero Hour Pre-Show (3/3/2024):

AEW Revolution Zero Hour opens up with Renee Paquette and RJ City welcoming the fans to the show. They then run through tonight’s card and a video package then airs hyping up Sting’s retirement match.

Tony Schiavone then interviews David Crockett at ringside and they talk about Sting’s retirement match. Schiavone also says tonight is about revenge for what The Young Bucks did to Sting’s sons a few weeks ago. They then talk about Sting vs. Ric Flair in this very arena back in 1988.

Renee Paquette and RJ City then continue to discuss tonight’s card and Paquette mentions that the 3-Way Match for the AEW World Championship will headline the show. We also get a number of video packages highlighting tonight’s matches.

We are then sent to the ring for the first match of AEW Revolution Zero Hour and we get the entrances of that match, which is a 12-Man Tag Team Match.

12-Man Tag Team Match: The Bang Bang Scissor Gang (AEW World Trios Champions The Acclaimed and “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn, “Switchblade” Jay White, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) vs. Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal, Willie Mack and Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen)

The match starts off with Austin Gunn and Isiah Kassidy. Kassidy hits a dropkick on Gunn and taunts him. Austin then gains the upper hand and mocks Kassidy. Austin Gunn then tags Colten Gunn in and they double team Kassidy. Kassidy then tags Quen in and they go back and forth. Colten then hits a dropkick on Quen. Caster then tags in and slams Quen. Bowens and Caster then double team Quen. Lethal then grabs Colten from behind and Quen hits him with a dropkick. Jarrett then tags in and takes control of the match.

Karen Jarrett then chokes Colten Gunn while the referee is distracted. Lethal and Jarrett then double team Colten. Mack then tags in and continues to control the match. Quen then tags back in and grounds Colten. Kassidy then accidentally collides with his partners as Colten evades a double team and tags Bowens in, who clears house with a flurry of offense. Dutt then tries to distract Bowens and Bowens drops him, but Lethal hits the Lethal Combination. Singh then tags in and dominates Bowens. Lethal then hits Bowens with a delayed vertical suplex. Jarrett then nails Bowens with a Russian leg sweep.

Bowens then tries to get back into this match and tags Daddy Ass in, who clears house. Mack and Lethal then double team Daddy Ass. Kassidy and Quen then both hit dives onto Daddy Ass and escapes a splash attempt from Mack. White then tags in and The Gunns hit Kassidy with 4:10 to Yuma, but Quen takes them down. The Acclaimed then hit the Arrival and the match breaks down in chaos. Singh then squares off with White. Daddy Ass then steps up to Singh, who overpowers the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. They all then gang up on Singh and Daddy Ass hits the Fameasser. White then hits the Bladerunner on Mack for the win.

After the match, The Bang Bang Scissor Gang celebrates and White grabs a mic. White starts off by mocking Caster’s botched rap and says “Guns Up” for the Bullet Club Gold. White then highlights the importance of Greensboro and hypes up tonight’s card. White then says the Bang Bang Scissor Gang is the greatest faction in the greatest wrestling company. White then calls himself one of the greatest of all time and says he can remind everyone what made him the Catalyst of Professional Wrestling at any time. White then says he is going to handle some big business in Boston.

We then head backstage, where Lexy Nair is with AEW International Champion “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy, Best Friends and Doc Sampson, who says he needs to tape Cassidy’s back and shoulder or else he won’t clear Cassidy tonight. Beretta then says they have Cassidy’s back tonight, but Cassidy says he is tired of his friends getting hurt because of him, so wants them to stay in the back. Chuck Taylor then says he will make sure everyone keeps out of the match, but Beretta didn’t seem to like the idea. Everyone then put their hands in for Cassidy as did Nair and Doc Sampson.

We then get a video vignette of “The Bastard” PAC, where he says that Tony Khan will never get rid of him because he is like a cockroach. PAC then says he will be back very soon and he will take this festering scrotum of a company into a new age. PAC then says doesn’t it feel good to be alive.

Tony Schiavone then speaks with David Crockett again and we get the entrances of the next match, which is a Tag Team Match.

Tag Team Match: AEW TBS Champion Julia Hart and Skye Blue vs. Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale

The match starts off with Blue and Nightingale. Nightingale gains the upper hand and double teams Blue with Statlander. Statlander hits a slams on Hart after she tags in. Statlander and Nightingale then continue to control the match. Hart then gains the upper hand and double teams Nightingale with Blue. Nightingale then tries to get back into this match, but Hart and Blue maintain the advantage. Statlander then tags in and delivers a flurry of offense. Hart then goes for her Hartless finisher, but Statlander evades it. Statlander and Nightingale then double team Hart and Blue.

Nightingale then hits a slam on Hart. Statlander then takes out Blue at ringside. Nightingale then gets a two count after hitting a slam on Hart. Nightingale then goes for the Doctor Bomb, but Hart counters and Blue nails her with a kick. Statlander and Hart then battle it out. Hart then hits a moonsault on Statlander, but Nightingale breaks up the pinfall attempt. Blue then takes Nightingale down at ringside and tags in, but Statlander drops her and Hart with a double clothesline. Blue then goes for the Code Blue, but Nightingale pounces her. Nightingale then hits her Doctor Bomb finisher on Blue for the 1-2-3.

Renee Paquette and RJ City then hype up tonight’s card one last time and inform us that Christian Cage vs. Daniel Garcia for the AEW TNT Champion will be starting the show and that is it for the AEW Revolution Zero Hour Pre-Show.

AEW Revolution Results (3/3/2024):

AEW Revolution opens up with Excalibur welcoming us to the show alongside Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone. Daniel Garcia then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the main show, which is the AEW TNT Championship Match. AEW TNT Champion Christian Cage makes his way down to the ring next with The Patriarchy.

AEW TNT Championship Match: Christian Cage (c) vs. Daniel Garcia

The match starts off with Daniel Garcia grabbing the AEW TNT Championship and posing with it. Garcia and Cage then feel each other out and Garcia gains the upper hand in this match, which leads to Cage making his way out of the ring to regroup. Both men then continue to feel each other out and Cage snaps Garcia’s neck on the ropes and high-fives Nick Wayne’s mom at ringside. Cage then hits Garcia with a neckbreaker and grounds him. Garcia then tries to get back in this match, but Cage sends him to the outside and dives on top of him.

Cage then talks some trash and Garcia takes out Cage’s ankle and targets it. Garcia then puts Cage in an ankle lock, but Cage escapes the hold and sends Garcia to the outside. Cage then sends Garcia crashing into the barricade and slams him into the ring post. Garcia then tries to get back into this match and takes Cage down. Garcia then punches Cage in the corner and gets a two count with a roll up. Cage then stands on top of Garcia, pressing him into the ropes. Garcia then blocks a punch from Cage and sends Cage flying into the steel steps. Garcia then blocks the Killswitch attempt from Cage, but gets hit with a knee. Garcia then puts Cage in the ankle lock once again. Cage then sends Garcia into the corner. Killswitch then slams Garcia while the referee isn’t looking. Cage then hits a frog splash on Garcia for a two count.

Killswitch then tries to interfere again, but “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard runs in and attacks him. Menard then stares Nick Wayne’s mom down and jumps on Killswitch and they head up the ramp. Cage’s leg gives out as he was attempting a Spear and Garcia hits a piledriver for a near fall. Nick Wayne then hits Garcia with a cheap shot and Cage hits his Killswitch finisher on Garcia for the win.

We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is with Bryan Danielson. Danielson says he knows Eddie Kingston’s weaknesses and he will make him tap out tonight.

We also see Renee Paquette talking with Eddie Kingston, who dedicates his title match to Jun Akiyama.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the AEW Continental Crown Championship Match.

AEW Continental Crown Championship Match (If Danielson loses, he has to shake Kingston’s hand): Eddie Kingston (c) vs. “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson

The match starts off with Danielson hitting some strikes on Kingston. Danielson then takes Kingston to the mat and kicks him. Kingston then hits the machine gun chops on Danielson and nails him with a Saito suplex. Kingston then dives onto Danielson at ringside. Kingston then chops Danielson, but Danielson moves and that leads to Kingston chopping the ring post. Danielson then hits a suplex on Kingston off the apron.

Danielson then wrenches Kingston’s fingers and stomps on his arm. Danielson then continues to target the arm of Kingston and delivers some more kicks on Kingston. Kingston then gets back into this match with an Exploder suplex. Kingston then hits Danielson with a DDT and goes for the Stretch Plum. Danielson then lands some kicks on Kingston. Kingston dodges one kick and Danielson nails Kingston with a Dragon suplex. Danielson then goes for his LeBell Lock submission, but instead transitions into a submission where he wrenches Kingston’s hand. Danielson then hits some vicious elbows on Kingston. Kingston then tries to get back in this match and hits a Northern Lights Bomb on Danielson for a two count.

Kingston then blasts Danielson with a back fist. Danielson then kicks Kingston’s injured hand and hits the running knee for a two count. Danielson then stomps on Kingston and locks in a triangle choke, but Kingston reaches the ropes. Danielson then kicks Kingston and both men trade suplexes, then Kingston delivers a half-and-half suplex on Danielson. Both men then trade shots and they blast each other with strikes. Kingston then puts Danielson down with a lariat and gets the victory with a powerbomb.

After the match, Kingston stares Danielson down. Danielson is initially hesitant to shake Kingston’s hand, but ultimately does as that was part of the stipulation. Danielson then raises Kingston’s hand and gets the fans to chant “Eddie.”

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s All-Star Scramble Match.

AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s All-Star Scramble Match: “The Ocho” Chris Jericho vs. Wardlow vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer vs. FTW Champion HOOK vs. “The Machine” Brian Cage vs. Magnus vs. Dante Martin

The match starts off with all the competitors brawling. FTW Champion HOOK then gets thrown outside of the ring and that leaves all the big men alone in the ring. Cage, Archer, Hobbs and Wardlow then trade shots as the fans chant “meat.” Wardlow and Archer are then left by themselves and they go back and forth. Archer then jumps off the ropes onto Wardlow and he clashes with Hobbs. Hobbs then hits him with a spinebuster and Cage hits a slam on Hobbs. Jericho then hits a Codebreaker and HOOK, Magnus and Martin then trade strikes.

Jericho then dives on top of Hobbs and Martin and Magnus lands their own dives as well. HOOK then dives on top of Cage at ringside. Martin and Magnus then go back and forth and Wardlow hits a superplex on Archer. Cage then hits a suplex on HOOK and Martin hits a frog splash for a two count. Martin then hits Jericho with a crossbody and Magnus tries to get the advantage with a flurry of offense. Archer then hits Magnus with a chokeslam and Hobbs delivers a clothesline and a powerslam on Archer. Wardlow then hits a suplex on Cage. Wardlow then takes control of the match until HOOK puts him in the Redrum and Jericho puts him in the Lion Tamer. HOOK then hits Cage with a suplex.

Jericho and HOOK then face off and trade shots. HOOK then hits Jericho with a suplex. Hobbs then takes control of the match, but Jericho puts him down with a fog machine. Cage then nails HOOK with a knee strike. Wardlow then hits him with a headbutt. Martin then lands a kick on Wardlow and slams Magnus. Wardlow then dives on top of Archer. Wardlow then sends Archer to the outside and nails HOOK with a headbutt. Wardlow then powerbombs Martin to score the win.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the AEW International Championship Match.

AEW International Championship Match: “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Roderick Strong

The match starts off with Strong running towards Cassidy, but Cassidy rolls Strong up for an early pin attempt. Cassidy then goes for another pin attempt. Strong then blasts Cassidy’s injured ribs and brings the fight to him at ringside. Strong then hits a suplex on Cassidy onto the barricade. Cassidy then dives onto Strong and hits a diving crossbody on Strong. Strong then slams Cassidy rib-first onto the mat. Strong then grounds Cassidy and continues to work on his ribs.

Cassidy then tries to get back in the match and hits a slam on Strong head-first into the turnbuckle several times. Strong then hits a slam on Cassidy back-first onto the turnbuckles and sends him crashing to the floor. Cassidy then tries to rally once again, but Strong nails Cassidy with a rib-breaker. Cassidy then counters the End of Heartache into a Stun Dog Millionaire, but Strong hits Cassidy with another back breaker. Strong then puts Cassidy in a double-legged Boston Crab and transitions it into the Strong-hold, but Cassidy escapes and hits Strong with a DDT. Cassidy then hits a diving DDT on Strong. Strong then hits a knee strike on Cassidy, but Cassidy blasts him with a right hand. Cassidy then hits the Beach Break on Strong, but Strong gets his foot on the rope. Strong then blocks the Orange Punch attempt from Cassidy and hits his End of Heartache finisher on Cassidy for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Mike Bennett and Matt Taven make their way down the ring to celebrate and they place Strong on their shoulders when a returning Kyle O’Reilly appears from behind. O’Reilly hugs Strong and as Bennett was handing him an Undisputed Kingdom shirt, O’Reilly refuses and whispers something to Strong before leaving.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Tag Team Match.

Tag Team Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli)

The match starts off with Castagnoli and Harwood. Harwood takes control of the match early on. Both men trade slaps, then Wheeler and Moxley tag into the match. Moxley then hits a chop on Wheeler. Harwood then tags in and hits a chop of his own on Moxley. Wheeler then tags back in and punches Castagnoli. Castagnoli then sends Wheeler out of the ring and Wheeler lands hard on the apron. Wheeler and Moxley then brawl through the crowd and Moxley gets him back in the ring.

Castagnoli and Moxley then double team Wheeler. Harwood then tags back in and takes control of the match with a flurry of offense. Castagnoli then hits Harwood with a lariat and Harwood is busted open. Castagnoli then hits Harwood with a powerslam in mid-air. Moxley and Castagnoli then double team Harwood for a two count and Harwood is bleeding badly. Harwood then tries to get back in the match and gets a two count with a powerbomb. FTR then hits Moxley with a stump piledriver for another two count. Castagnoli and Moxley then hit Harwood with a Doomsday Device and everyone is down.

Castagnoli then counters the Shatter Machine attempt from FTR and swings Harwood. Moxley then kicks Harwood as he is swinging for a two count. Moxley then bites Harwood’s head and Harwood comes back with a punch. Wheeler and Harwood then double team Moxley. FTR then hit the Shatter Machine on Moxley, but Castagnoli breaks up the pin. Wheeler then dives on top of Castagnoli, but Castagnoli blasts him with an uppercut in mid-air. Harwood then hits Castagnoli with a piledriver on the floor. Moxley then hits the Death Rider on Harwood, but Harwood turns it into a pinning predicament for a two count. Moxley then puts Harwood in the bulldog choke and Harwood passes out.

After the match, FTR stares Moxley and Castagnoli down, but neither of them shake hands.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the AEW Women’s World Championship Match.

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo

The match starts off with Purrazzo and Storm feeling each other out and they are evenly matched early on. Purrazzo then takes control of the match and Storm makes her way to the outside to take a breather. Purrazzo then hits a sliding dropkick on Storm and Storm kicks Purrazzo below the belt to gain the upper hand. Storm then grounds Purrazzo and nails her with a clothesline. Both women then trade shots and Purrazzo tries to come back in the match with a flurry of offense. Purrazzo then puts Storm in a Fujiwara armbar, but Storm gets out of it. Purrazzo then gains controls of the match, but Storm gains the advantage and hits a hip attack on Purrazzo in the corner. Storm then hits a DDT on Purrazzo and gets a two count.

Storm then puts Purrazzo in an ankle lock, but Purrazzo escapes and tries to get back in this match. Purrazzo takes Storm down and goes for the arm bar. Luther then appears out of nowhere and distracts the referee as Storm is tapping out. Mariah May then distracts Purrazzo and Storm hits her Storm Zero finisher for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Storm briefly celebrates with Mariah May and Luther.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay vs. Konosuke Takeshita

The match starts off with Ospreay and Takeshita feeling each other out early on. Ospreay then lands some stiff shots on Takeshita and both men trade strikes. Takeshita then responds with a delayed vertical suplex. Takeshita then hits Ospreay with a senton and grounds Ospreay, but Ospreay responds with a springboard elbow strike. Ospreay then hits Takeshita with a corkscrew kick off the ropes and dives on top of Takeshita at ringside.

Takeshita then catches Ospreay by surprise with some kicks and dives on top of him at ringside. Ospreay then gets his knees up as Takeshita was going for a senton. Takeshita then counters a dive from Ospreay and hits Ospreay with a German suplex. Ospreay then kicks Takeshita, rolls through a suplex and hits a Spanish fly on Takeshita that knocks both men down.

Takeshita and Ospreay then trade shots and Ospreay hits Takeshita with an elbow strike. Takeshita then lands a stiff shot on Ospreay and hits him with a second one. Takeshita then lands another shot on Ospreay and both men trade counters. Ospreay then hits a Tiger Driver on Takeshita and gets a two count. Takeshita then hits the Blue Thunder Bomb on Ospreay and get a two count.

Ospreay then comes back in the match and hits the Os-cutter on Takeshita. Takeshita then counters with another stiff shot on Ospreay and Ospreay responds with a kick on Takeshita. Takeshita then hits Ospreay with a brainbuster and Ospreay lands hard. Takeshita then delivers a knee to the face of Ospreay and Ospreay hits Takeshita with a poison-rana. Takeshita then slams Ospreay and Ospreay rolls through with a wheelbarrow suplex and clotheslines Takeshita. Both men then hit each other with elbow strikes. Ospreay then hits a powerbomb on Takeshita, then hits a Styles Clash on Takeshita for a two count. Ospreay then hits Takeshita with the Tiger Driver ’91 and his Hidden Blade finisher for the1-2-3.

After the match, Don Callis celebrates with Ospreay before checking on Takeshita. Kyle Fletcher then makes his way down to the ring as Ospreay and Takeshita shows respect to each other. Ospreay and Fletcher then had a face off before hugging and we are told by Excalibur that Will Ospreay will face Kyle Fletcher in a Singles Match this coming Wednesday night on Dynamite.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is the 3-Way Match for the AEW World Championship.

AEW World Championship 3-Way Match: Samoa Joe (c) vs. “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland

The match starts off with all three men squaring off and Joe gains the advantage. Page then sends Joe to the outside and hits a slam on Strickland. Strickland then gets right back to his feet and kicks Joe. Swerve then hits a diving uppercut on Page and dives on top of Joe. Joe then gets back in the ring and takes control of the match by overpowering Page. Joe then puts Page in the STF, but Strickland breaks it up.

Joe then goes for the Muscle Buster, but Swerve fights his way out. Strickland and Page then team up to powerbomb Joe and the two men battle it out. Swerve then counters the Deadeye into a pin attempt, but Joe breaks it up. Strickland then delivers a kick to Joe and Page and Strickland battle it out. Page then hits Strickland with a Tombstone. Page then hits a powerbomb on. Strickland, but Strickland responds with a flatliner and a suplex for a two count. Joe then comes back into the match with a series of strikes to both Strickland and Page. Joe then hits a Muscle Buster on Page, but Swerve hits the Swerve Stomp on Joe and follows that up with the House Call.

Swerve then hits the House Call on Page for a two count and fights out of a choke attempt by Joe. Strickland then hits Joe with a DDT and follows that up with a 450 splash. Swerve then hits the Swerve Stomp on Joe, but Page pulls the referee out of the ring. Page then gets the championship belt and bashes Strickland with it. Page then hits Swerve with the title again. Page then hits Joe with the Buckshot Lariat and follows that up with a second one, but the referee is down. A second referee then comes in and counts the pin, but Joe kicks out at two. Joe then counters a third Buckshot Lariat and locks in the rear naked choke, but Swerve breaks it up.

Prince Nana then hands Strickland his crown, but Strickland refuses to use it. Strickland then rolls up Joe for a pinfall attempt, but Page attacks the referee. Joe then takes control of the match and goes for the Muscle Buster, but Strickland fights out of it. Page then hits Joe with a Buckshot Lariat and Strickland knocks Page down. Strickland then nails Page with the JML Driver. Joe then puts Page in a rear naked choke and Page submits.

The winner and still the AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe!

After the match, Strickland looks dejected as Joe celebrates his win. Commentary then discusses if Page only submitted so he could keep Strickland from winning the title.

We are then told that on Sunday, April 21st in St. Louis, Missouri AEW will hold their next PPV Event known as AEW Dynasty.

Pro wrestling legend “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair then makes his way down to the ring for the next match. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat is then introduced as the special timekeeper for the main event and several legends are shown in the crowd.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is the Tornado Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

AEW World Tag Team Championship Tornado Tag Team Match (Sting’s retirement match): “The Icon” Sting and Darby Allin (c) vs. The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson)

The match starts off with Darby Allin diving on top of The Young Bucks. Sting’s sons get involved in the match and they hit Stinger Splashes on Matthew and Nicholas along with Sting himself.

Sting then puts Matthew and Nicholas in the Scorpion Deathlock and sends Nicholas flying over the barricade. Darby then dives on top of Matthew and Nicholas and Sting and Allin maintain the advantage in the match. Sting then brings out a pane of glass and goes to hit Matthew with a bat, but Matthew moves, so Sting ends up hitting the glass pane. Allin then chases Nicholas through the crowd. Sting and Allin then fight The Young Bucks up to the stage. Nicholas then hits Allin with a Falcon Arrow off the stage and through a table. Matthew then sends Sting crashing through a table with a suplex off the stage.

The Young Bucks then isolate Allin and slam him onto a ladder. Allin then tries to get back in the match and goes for a dive off a ladder, but The Young Bucks move, so Allin ends up crashing through the glass. The Young Bucks then double team Sting. Sting then tries to get back in the match after he gets slammed through a table. The Young Bucks then slam Sting through a pane of glass and Matthew hits a Scorpion Death Drop on Sting for a two count.

Ricky Steamboat then gets involved, but The Young Bucks attack him. Ric Flair then checks on Sting and covers him as Matthew stands over him with a title belt. The Young Bucks then superkick Flair and Steamboat. Matthew then hits Sting with a belt and pins him for a two count. The Young Bucks then superkick Sting, but he no-sells it. Sting then tries to get back into the match and takes the fight to Matthew and Nicholas. Sting then hits a Scorpion Death Drop on Matthew, but Nicholas breaks it up. The Young Bucks then hit Sting with the EVP Trigger, but Sting kicks out.

The Young Bucks then hit another EVP Trigger, but Sting kicks out at one. Allin then breaks up a TK Driver and Sting hits the Scorpion Death Drop for a two count. Allin then hits the Coffin Drop and Sting puts Matthew in the Scorpion Death Lock and Matthew submits.

The winners of the match and still the AEW World Tag Team Champions, “The Icon” Sting and Darby Allin!

After the match, Sting and Darby Allin celebrate together. Confetti then goes off as the celebration continues. Allin then asks the crowd to show some love for Sting and they do. Sting then thanks the crowd and says he has been thanking the Greensboro crowd since 1988, when he went 45 minutes with Ric Flair. Sting then thanks Ric Flair and says he wants this to be a night that fans won’t forget for years to come. Sting then says he won’t forget this night. Sting then calls Allin the best partner he has ever had and the screen goes black before Sting can finish his promo as they are out of time and the show comes to a close.
