Following R-Truth’s return to the company at WWE Survivor Series 2023 after an absence of over a year, he aligned himself with The Judgment Day, despite objections from the group’s members who denied his membership.

In an interview with Inside The Ropes, Señor Money In The Bank Damian Priest reflected on his experiences working alongside R-Truth within the context of The Judgment Day. He expressed admiration for R-Truth’s ability to consistently break his composure, stating:

“He hasn’t gotten close to cracking me, I’ve been cracked. I’m open, I’m scrambled. He got me. It’s unbelievable. I could go in and I know what he’s gonna do. I know he’s going to try to do that.”

Priest acknowledged R-Truth’s knack for humor and his relentless efforts to induce laughter, admitting that despite his best efforts to remain composed, R-Truth’s comedic timing and delivery consistently proved challenging:

“I know he’s going to try to break me and make me laugh, that’s what he does. And no matter how hard you try, no matter how much you’re expecting him to say something, it doesn’t matter.”

Reflecting on the difficulty of maintaining a serious demeanor in R-Truth’s presence, Priest emphasized the comedian’s undeniable talent for humor, asserting:

“You look at his face and in his delivery, it’s impossible to stay serious. Maybe some can [keep a straight face], but I’m not one, and I’m usually pretty good at not laughing.”

Acknowledging his own typically serious disposition, Priest conceded that R-Truth’s comedic prowess often left him vulnerable to breaking character:

“I’m a pretty serious person especially when I need to be, but that guy, he’ll break anybody. I really do believe that. He’s gotten me a few times.”

While R-Truth’s affiliation with The Judgment Day remains a subject of debate, his merchandise themed around the faction has seen success. However, recent beatdowns from the group may indicate a shift in R-Truth’s perception of his relationship with them.
