Darby Allin is currently one of the top stars in AEW and is known to stir the pot from time to time with his promos. That’s exactly what happened on AEW Dynamite this past week and we have clarification on whether he got heat for his promo on the show.

As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin was involved in a promo segment with The Young Bucks. In a subtle reference to their abuse of power as the EVPs of AEW, Darby Allin referenced Cody Rhodes, who was once an EVP of AEW during his time in the company. This led to a few solid ‘Cody!’ cheers among the audience.

According to Sean Ross Sapp on the Fightful Select Backstage Q&A Podcast, Sapp was asked if Darby Allin got heat for his promo on The Young Bucks. Sean Ross Sapp noted that Darby Allin did not get any heat for the promo, adding that everyone in AEW knew Allin was going to reference Cody Rhodes in his promo.

“Nope, not at all. they knew he was gonna.”
