Tensions reached a boiling point at the press event when Cody Rhodes announced Roman Reigns as his WrestleMania 40 opponent, triggering a heated verbal exchange. In response to this decision, The Rock delivered thunderous slap to Cody Rhodes, sparking an intense confrontation.
The entire show exuded a strong Attitude Era vibe blended with realism. This is especially because The Rock actually turned heel for the first time in 21 years, something they never expected.
The Great One took to Twitter and hyped up his SmackDown appearance tonight by delivering an unhinged statement, promising that he would slap Cody Rhodes multiple times for the culture. He also uploaded a video, touting the success of the WrestleMania 40 kickoff press conference.
