Matt Cardona has become one of the most talked about and impressive wrestling stars ever since he left WWE in his rearview. He recently made an interesting revelation about the man who gave him an opportunity when others did not, Scott D’Amore.

Following his release from WWE in 2020, Matt Cardona tried to clinch an opportunity with their rival competitor, AEW, however, the promotion did not require his services at that point.

But it was TNA (IMPACT Wrestling at the time) President Scott D’Amore who gave him a chance to step back inside the squared circle and in the process, gave his confidence back to live his dream once again, following which he became one of the biggest indie stars of all time

Moreover, he joined the bandwagon of people who expressed their frustrations with Scott being fired from TNA by its parent company, Anthem Sports. Cardona joined them while expressing the importance of Scott D’Amore in his life on X.

@ScottDAmore gave me an opportunity during the pandemic when WWE fired me and AEW didn’t want me. Being in Impact gave me my confidence back and I was able to go on and become the Deathmatch King and Indy God and more successful than I’ve ever been. #WeWantScott.”

With Scott D’Amore’s long tenure with TNA Wrestling coming to an end, it would be interesting to see where he goes next and contributes his years of experience toward building a top wrestling promotion.
