Shotzi Sustained Grave Injury During NXT TV Tapings

Shotzi is one of the more popular stars in WWE right now and she clearly has a lot to offer in the company even now. She was also part of the latest NXT tapings for title match but sadly, she sustained a grave injury during her match.

NXT pre-taped next week’s episode, featuring a packed night of action. Unfortunately, the match between Shotzi and Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Title didn’t go as expected.

During the latest taping for next week’s WWE NXT Championship match, Shotzi suffered a knee injury while attempting her apron DDT. An evaluation will determine the severity of the injury. According to Fightful’s Corey Brennan, the NXT Women’s Title match had to be halted midway through the bout.

”Shotzi and Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Title match during tonight’s second #WWENXT taping was stopped due to a serious knee injury suffered by Shotzi.”

Fightful Select clarified that the situation was not a work. Shotzi experienced significant pain backstage and couldn’t put weight on her leg. Corey Brennan, after consulting multiple NXT sources, verified that Shotzi had to hop to the back with assistance from WWE’s medical team. She was visibly in distress upon arriving backstage, prompting immediate concern from officials who swiftly arranged for her medical evaluation.

”After speaking to several sources in NXT, Corey Brennan was able to confirm that Shotzi was not able to place weight on her injured knee and was forced to hop to the back with assistance from WWE’s medical team. It was apparent when Shotzi arrived backstage that she was in a large amount of pain. Officials backstage were said to be very concerned for Shotzi and she was immediately taken for medical evaluation.”

This is certainly shocking news for Shotzi, as getting a knee injury right before WrestleMania 40 is the worst thing that could happen to a WWE Superstar. Nonetheless, we will keep you updated on her condition.
