NJPW Drops Teaser Featuring AEW Tag Team for New Beginning in Osaka

New Japan Pro Wrestling is going through an interesting time right now, with many top stars leaving the company for one reason or the other. Therefore it’s no big surprise the company has now aired a teaser for an AEW tag team during New Begining in Osaka.

During the NJPW New Beginning in Osaka event, El Phantasmo and Hikuleo defended their IWGP Tag Team Championships against KENTA and Chase Owens, which turned out to be the only title match on the card.

Prior to the match, NJPW aired a video package that also happened to feature Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix. The video specifically mentioned they used footage from All Elite Wrestling, as NJPW teased the tag team making their way to NJPW eventually.

Rey Fenix is currently out of action due to injury, but is expected to return to the ring sooner than later. It is also to be noted that their NJPW venture would mean the duo no longer have ties with AAA. We will have to wait and see if The Lucha Bros end up making their way to NJPW this year.
