The Rock and Roman Reigns were always supposed to square off against each other, but fans feared the worst it was going to be at WrestleMania 40. After what transpired on SmackDown this week, a former WWE superstar made it clear they were furious.
The conclusion of the recent WWE SmackDown episode sparked division as The Rock confronted Roman Reigns. This occurred after Cody Rhodes brought the Hollywood megastar out, seemingly relinquishing his WrestleMania 40 title shot.
Fans are upset with this decision, expressing disappointment that WWE’s top babyface had to play second fiddle to a part-timer. They are not alone in their sentiments, as some former superstars, including Summer Rae, have also voiced their displeasure.
Rae tweeted her preference for seeing Roman Reigns face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 instead of The Rock. Summer Rae took a shot at both The Tribal Chief and The Great One for their part-time schedules, also criticizing WWE for undermining The American Nightmare’s 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble victory.

It is yet to be determined whether Roman Reigns will square off against The Rock at this year’s Show of Shows or if Cody Rhodes will continue to be part of the storyline. The Road to WrestleMania 40 may have many twists and turns ahead.
