William Regal was an instrumental part of NXT during the brand’s black and gold days. He played the role of the brand’s General Manager and was also pivotal in the development of several NXT stars during that time.
However, as NXT was undergoing a transition, Regal was released from the company. Following his departure, Regal showed up in AEW where he formed the Blackpool Combat Club. He spent a short nine months in AEW before he returned back to WWE.
However, following his return to WWE, Regal didn’t make an appearance on television and remained a key figure behind the scenes. However, that may all change soon.
Fightful Select is reporting that William Regal’s return to WWE TV – specifically for the NXT brand – has been discussed internally within the company recently. It should also be noted that Regal wasn’t able to appear on WWE TV as part of his departure from AEW.
“Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned that Regal’s return to WWE TV — specifically within the NXT brand — have been discussed of late.”
If these reports are true and Regal makes his return to television, it will be the first time in over two years that he is appearing on WWE television.
