A heated Twitter discourse involving Jinder Mahal, Tony Khan, and others not only tarnished Khan’s reputation but also unexpectedly involved AEW star HOOK. Now, HOOK has finally responded to Mahal taking a dig at him during the aforementioned discourse.

In case you need a refresher, Tony Khan’s meltdown originated from troll tweet by The USA Network account. In response, Khan defended his booking decisions and his company on Twitter, highlighting what he perceived as a “double standard.” He compared Jinder Mahal’s win-loss record to that of HOOK, the AEW World Champion contender.

“A double standard: @730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage #AEWDynamite TOMORROW on TBS.“

Jinder Mahal retaliated on Twitter by questioning FTW Champion HOOK’s identity and promoting WWE’s Monday Night Raw on the USA Network. Despite the exchange being in the past, it continues to be a topic of discussion.

HOOK, typically inactive on Twitter throughout his AEW career, finally responded in a new promo ahead of his AEW World Championship challenge against Samoa Joe on Dynamite this week.

In the video, HOOK casually addresses the pressure, downplays his size to compete with Joe, and indulges in pizza. He also questions his own identity in response to Jinder Mahal’s dig and confidently declares his pursuit of the world title within 24 hours.

“So who’s the pressure on tomorrow? I mean, is there really anything that I have to lose?

And also (bites into a slice of pizza), I’m not big enough to compete with Samoa Joe. Eh, but I am getting some calories right now (holds up pizza), so who knows.

“Then again, who the f**k am I anyway?

“24 hours Joe, I’m coming for that world title.”

Even Kevin Nash questioned HOOK’s credibility recently. Nevertheless, HOOK is fully focused on his AEW World Title match against Samoa Joe on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Therefore, it remains to be seen how he will fare against the Samoan Submission Machine.
