WWE saw a huge event go down when The Rock surprised fans during the Day 1 episode of RAW on January 1st. That appearance also saw Dwayne Johnson drop a hint that he may want to go against the Head of the Table. Obviously, that drew a lot of attention to WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes was previously thought to be a favorite to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania to finish his story. Now, with The Rock’s return, that question is out there that he may not get that match after all. There is also some support to book The Rock vs Roman Reigns as well.

During Busted Open Radio, Mickie James discussed the possibility of The Rock facing Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 40 instead of Cody Rhodes. She loves Cody, but WWE might not want to pass up on The Rock vs Roman Reigns on the grandest stage of them all.

“You know, I love Cody. He’s my friend, he’s my brother, and I’m excited to see him shine. He’s freaking killing [it], but if I have the option to see, if I had the opportunity to watch Roman [Reigns] and Cody again at WrestleMania or Roman and Rock for the first time ever at WrestleMania, you best believe I’m looking for Roman and Rock.” “The Rock has carte blanche, in my opinion, in the wrestling business to walk out on any stage to call his shot.”

The Rock doesn’t come around very often, and he might want that WrestleMania match this year. This is obviously an interesting situation, and anything is possible at this point.

We will have to see what is in the future. WWE has some choices, and The Rock is obviously a primary choice right now. Only time will tell if The Rock and Roman Reigns finally collide at WrestleMania 40, but we will be here with all the updates you need.
