Roman Reigns & Kevin Owens Reach Impressive Royal Rumble Title Match Milestones

WWE’s Royal Rumble event is going down on January 27th, and fans are set for a big night of action. Two WWE Superstars will also make history during the big show.

The lineup for this year’s WWE Royal Rumble is taking shape, with four confirmed matches, featuring the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble bouts. Among the marquee matches at Tropicana Field in Tampa, FL, is the clash for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. That match will see Roman Reigns against LA Knight, AJ Styles, and Randy Orton. A showdown between WWE United States Champion Logan Paul and Kevin Owens is also slated for the card.

Initially, the plans for Roman Reigns at this event saw The Tribal Chief defending his title against Orton in a singles match. That match was changed, but this new fatal four-way match will give a lot more possibilities.

WWE Stats pointed out that Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens will join the ranks of stars like The Miz, Brock Lesnar, and Triple H, who have been in seven title matches at the Royal Rumble. Prior to this event, both Owens and Reigns had battled in six title matches at the Royal Rumble.

At the 2024 event, both @FightOwensFight and @WWERomanReigns join the list as they each will be in their 7th title match at a @WWE Royal Rumble event.

The history between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns at this event dates back to 2017 when they faced off in a No DQ Match for the Universal Title. Future encounters included a Last Man Standing Match for the Universal Title in 2021 and a bout last year when Reigns successfully retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.
