Mercedes Mone’s AEW Debut Is Expected Very Soon

Mercedes Mone walked out of WWE, and she hasn’t been back. Although there was talk of her returning, it doesn’t appear that Sasha Banks will be back in WWE at this point.

AEW is in the conversation to bring Mercedes Mone in. Although talks reportedly stalled for a time, they are apparently right back up again. Now, it is expected that the former Sasha Banks will become All Elite.

It was previously noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE and AEW were both trying to secure Mercedes Mone to a deal. At this time, the expectation is that she will end up in AEW.

“WWE and AEW have clearly both been talking with her. Obviously this has gone on with AEW for months if not a year and she’s never signed yet. There was a lot of talk within wrestling of her on this week’s Dynamite which she wasn’t on.”

“We do know that the expectation is she will be in AEW fairly soon, but until a contract signing is confirmed, anything can happen.”

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Mercedes Mone is expected to arrive in AEW very soon. This might as early as this week’s episode of Dynamite, but they didn’t tease anything as they normally have in the past.

On last night’s show there were no teases for Mercedes Mone or for her appearing Wednesday in Jacksonville. What I know is that AEW does expect her to start on TV soon, but as noted, until it happens and the contract itself is signed, I wouldn’t consider anything 100 percent.

One would think there would be some sort of a tease of a surprise if she was to appear, since that’s been the case with most major signings. But Sting’s original debut in Jacksonville came out of nowhere.

AEW has a long history in Jacksonville, Florida, as Daily’s Place played host for their programming during the pandemic. Their homecoming episode might give AEW a chance to debut Mercedes Mone on a very important stage for the company.

We will have to see what Mercedes Mone decides to do next. Anything is on the table until she makes her debut. Tony Khan has been coy in the past about saying anything definite about her, but it appears that Mone may become All Elite soon enough.
