AEW has many possibilities for their future, and Deonna Purrazzo’s debut for the company certainly brought on a lot of options for Tony Khan. Despite AEW landing Purrazzo’s deal, they were not the only company that showed interest in her.

During his Backstage report podcast, Sean Sapp spoke about Deonna Purrazzo’s arrival in AEW. It turns out that she had a lot of options, and WWE was in the game for her, but they wanted to wait.

Deonna Purrazzo has never been one to be patient, so she signed with AEW. In the end, it is said that she ended up where she wanted to be in the first place. She also got a big debut in front of a hometown crowd, and it was a big moment for her.

She won on that one, she had a major debut, and she had the fans chanting her name. There was some interest from WWE, I don’t know to what degree, but I was told all of their free agent talks would be tabled until after the new year, and it became abundantly clear that she didn’t want to wait that long. She signed with AEW, and that’s kinda where she wanted to head anyway.”

We will have to see what Deonna Purrazzo does next in AEW. She is All Elite at this point, so the sky may be the limit. Only time will tell what big stories she has in her future, but the AEW women’s division may get very crowded soon enough.

The top of the AEW women’s division may get a big boost with Mercedes Mone. That could change everything, but Deonna Purrazzo will obviously be a player.
