WWE SmackDown this week saw AOP’s return to the fold in Vancouver for New Year’s Revolution, but they didn’t come alone. Paul Ellering was with them, and that was a part of the plan.

WWE brought big show for New Year’s Revolution, and the Authors of Pain’s return to television was a long time coming. After all, they inked a new deal a long time ago.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Paul Ellering was very important to AOP. He was a necessity if their WWE return was going to happen.

AOP and Ellering have been signed for well over a year. We’re told that Ellering being a part of their presentation was important to them.
