NJPW star Tama Tonga is a member of the original Bullet Club in the promotion and has been one of the mainstays of the company for several years. He even won the NEVER Openweight Title at Wrestle Kingdom 18, but Tonga has now announced his decision to leave NJPW soon.

During one of the most highly anticipated matches at Wrestle Kingdom 18, Tama Tonga faced off against long-time rival Shingo Takagi in a blistering contest. He hit several moves on Takagi including Styles Clash, Gun Stun, and Jay Driller.

When all was said and done, Tama Tonga defeated Takagi and won his fourth NEVER Openweight Title. However, just when people thought Tonga was sticking with NJPW, they were in for a rude awakening.

While speaking during a backstage segment at Wrestle Kingdom 18, Tama Tonga revealed that January will be his last working month in NJPW. Tonta stated that he wants to find work closer to home as he misses his family and leaving them at home is not something he wants to continue to do. Therefore, he will be going to the United States very soon.
