WWE has big show planned for their January 1st episode, as they kick things into high gear. Things were incredibly exciting as a former World Champion’s return was promoted, but The Rock showed up to blow the roof off the building.

Ringside News provided comprehensive coverage of WWE RAW’s January 1st’s Day One episode. They hyped a champion’s return, and that’s what they got.

Triple H confirmed that a former WWE Champion would be returning during the Day 1 episode of WWE RAW. That all came to a head during the beginning of the second hour of the show, just as we heard it would.

Jinder Mahal’s music sounded out, and fans didn’t really appreciate it. Then Jinder Mahal took to the ring, where he cut a promo about how “disgusting” the United States are, and how the country has never been so divided. Ignorance, misinformation, and social media influencers were his target.

Mahal mocked USA chants, and called the once former super-power of the United States “a joke.” This was certainly a way to get some heat from fans.

They were very clear to hype the return of a former WWE Champion. That left a lot of fans speculating to wonder who would be making their way to the ring, and to what extent. Little did they know that they would get a new anti-American Jinder Mahal gimmick.

Then The Rock came out to pop the crowd in a huge way. He made his way to the ring, and posed for the crowd. There was some speculation that he would be back for the show, but it wasn’t 100% confirmed prior to the broadcast.

The Rock said that Jinder Mahal is no Iron Sheik, and then he did an impression of Sheik where he called him a “son-of-a-bitch bastard.” Mahal tried to tell The Rock that he would be disgusted in himself to represent America, and then The Rock said he is “damn proud to be the People’s Champion, and The Rock is damn proud to be an American.”

Then The Rock told Mahal that nobody likes him and nobody thinks he’s funny. If he was one of his movies, he’d be Baywatch. To be fair, Baywatch was a critical and financial disappointment, but Mahal said he never saw it. Then The Rock said it doesn’t matter if he hasn’t seen it.

The Rock got “Day One Douch Bag” chants going with the crowd after he declared that was the Modern Day Maharaja’s new nickname. That was followed by The Rock singing a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner where he said that Jinder Mahal’s balls aren’t there.

Mahal tried to jump The Rock, but then Dwayne Johnson fired back with some fists, his signature spinebuster, and then a People’s Elbow. Then he asked the San Diego fans if he should sit at the head of the table when he goes out to eat tonight. That was quite an interesting way to close things out.

Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of tonight’s show over in our WWE Monday Night RAW coverage hub. It promises to be a memorable episode for many reasons, so it remains to be seen how the episode will turn out.
