Carmelo Hayes is former NXT Champion, and there is a lot of upside to everything he brings to the table. Melo doesn’t miss at this point, and he could have big things waiting for him on the main roster soon enough.

Earlier this year, talks surfaced about a possible reunion of The Hurt Business, featuring Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, along with the addition of NXT’s Carmelo Hayes. However, due to Benjamin’s release, the original members will not be reuniting.

Bobby Lashley started up a new group with the Street Profits, and they have much of the same vibe. MVP is with Omos now, and they’re still working WWE live events, but the faction is still a trio for now.

During an interview with Vibe, Carmelo Hayes was questioned about the possibility of joining a revamped version of The Hurt Business. He seems to be totally down with the idea of rebooting the schedule.

“Shoot, that’d be cool. Right now I’m so focused on what I got going on here in NXT. It’s going to take a lot more than just showing up and dapping me up to get me over there. I’m not thirsty for any membership. If they want me, they can holler at me and we can talk business. Respect to them [,though,] because they’re my brothers for real.”

Carmelo Hayes is getting a lot of attention on the main roster, thanks to his inclusion in the United States #1 Contender tournament. We will have to see what is next for him, but the sky seems to be the limit with him.

Bobby Lashley’s new stable has a lot of potential, and Carmelo Hayes could find himself with a new home in WWE soon enough. Only time will tell what is in his future, but his good friend Trick Williams has an NXT Title match against Ilja Dragunov at New Year’s Evil that could change everything for him.
