WWE has seen a lot of celebrities come in and try their hand at being a Superstar. A few people ended up impressing fans, and Stephen Amell certainly owns a spot in that category. It appears that Warner Bros Discovery wasn’t too willing to help make things even more special.

Stephen Amell reflected on his participation in WWE SummerSlam 2015. He wanted to use the Arrow theme, but WBD owned the rights. This presented an issue.

During a recent virtual signing with Sign-it-Live for Highspots, Stephen Amell shared an interesting anecdote about his entrance theme for the event. As the lead actor in the show Arrow, Amell expressed his desire to use the Arrow theme at SummerSlam. However, Warner Bros. stood in the way with a substantial financial hurdle by demanding a $5,000 for its use.

I asked W.B. if we could use the Arrow theme song for my music (at WWE SummerSlam 2015), and they said yeah and they wanted to charge me $5,000, and I said, ‘Are you guys out of your mind?’ I said, ‘I will not pay you a single dollar. Do you understand that I’m doing promotion for the show?’ And they went, ‘Well, we didn’t set it up. So it’s gonna be $5,000,’ and I said — can we swear on this? I said, ‘Go f*ck yourselves’ and then they called up and they said, ‘We’re happy to give it to you’ and I said, ‘Uhn, uhn…’ I shouldn’t have shared that. The WWE wrote me a nice — they wrote me something. They did it. It wasn’t as good as what Blake Neely put together for The Arrow score which would’ve been amazing… Oh man, people at studios don’t like when they don’t have their own ideas.”

In another amusing note from the signing, Amell playfully mentioned his desire to “blade” in the second season of the show, Heels. However, the show-runners vetoed the idea. So, there was no color for Stephen Amell. You can’t blame him for trying.

I really, really wanted to blade in the season finale of season two of Heels and they’re just like, ‘No.’

At WWE SummerSlam 2015, Amell joined forces with PAC (Neville) to face off against the duo of King Barrett and Stardust. The collaboration marked a crossover between the world of acting and professional wrestling.

Stephen Amell loves pro wrestling, and that’s no secret. Only time will tell if he makes a return to WWE for a little cameo. After all, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk are both in WWE, leaving Amell with fewer ties in AEW.
