AOP were secretly signed by WWE, and Akam and Rezar might be coming back. They also could be reuniting with someone who had a lot to do with their success the first time around.

It was previously reported that AOP and Paul Ellering are getting their act back together in WWE. They were reportedly signed in 2022, but the trio haven’t made a return to television.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Akam and Rezar are set for a return very soon. Of course, things could change, but it seems that the working plan is for them to be on the SmackDown plan.

Fightful Select has learned that the Authors of Pain aka AOP are planned for a return to WWE TV soon. Specifically, we’re told that the working plan for them as of now is for them to appear on the Smackdown brand, though that could always change.

Akam and Rezar are on the verge of making a comeback to WWE television. Although plans in the dynamic world of professional wrestling are subject to change.

It was previously reported in January 2023 about WWE’s interest in the duo. However, the latest update reveals that Akam and Rezar have been under WWE contract for nearly a year and a half, with their presence at the WWE Performance Center confirmed in August 2022.

We’ll have to see if that secret signing for WWE translates into an on-screen return for the former tag team champions. It stands to reason that WWE could create a lot of noise with them, but they need to make that crucial return first.
