WWE brought a big show in store for fans in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They taped next week’s SmackDown after the show, and we have those spoilers here at Ringside News. That being said, consider this a spoiler warning for this article.
The Bloodline were around for SmackDown this week on the December 15th episode, as Roman Reigns made a return. LA Knight was also booked for the show. Randy Orton continued his current angle with Roman Reigns and company.
Santos Escobar secured a victory over Bobby Lashley, earning his place in the finals of the United States Championship Contenders Tournament. Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo played a crucial role in Escobar’s win.
Dragon Lee successfully defended his NXT North American Championship against Butch.
AJ Styles, dressed entirely in black, expressed his indifference towards Randy Orton and LA Knight. He proclaimed that he should be the one to face Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble. Knight and Orton disrupted the segment, leading to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announcing a triple threat match for the “New Year’s Revolution” edition of Smackdown. The winner of this match will challenge Reigns at the Rumble.
In a tag team match, Bianca Belair, Shotzi, Zelina Vega, and Michin defeated Damage CTRL. The babyface team made a grand entrance on a Christmas-themed tank, and the crowd joined in a Merry Christmas chant during the match. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre launched an attack on Kairi Sane at one point.
Kevin Owens advanced to the finals of the United States Championship Contenders Tournament by defeating Carmelo Hayes. Owens is set to face Santos Escobar in the finals.
A match between AJ Styles and Solo Sikoa ended in a disqualification when Roman Reigns attacked Styles. This led to a chaotic brawl involving Styles, Knight, Orton, and the Bloodline, with Knight ultimately standing tall.
We will have to see how it all pans out when the show goes live. As always, keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for ongoing coverage.
