AJ Lee left WWE shortly after CM Punk, and she hasn’t been back. She also didn’t show up in AEW, but now that Punk is back in WWE, the rumor mill is churning about her.

CM Punk and AJ Lee were married after he walked out of WWE. The company actually sent him his release on his wedding day, so there was a bit of animosity with that move. That being said, with Triple H in charge, it is a much different era in WWE.

During Fightful Select’s Backstage podcast, Sean Sapp was asked about AJ Lee’s possible WWE return. It appears that isn’t off the table at this point, because she seemingly enjoyed her time with WOW Women of Wrestling, and many WWE Superstars would love to have her back.

“It has significantly improved from what it was prior, she has shown willingness to participate in some wrestling stuff, as she was the face and sort-of living mascot for the WOW Women of Wrestling company.”

“They wanted her, because they wanted people to go, ‘oh, AJ Lee is on this show in some capacity.’ She did it, she made some good money doing it, and she was well-liked there from what I understood.”

“There are a whole lot of women in WWE who would love to wrestle AJ Lee, be on-screen with AJ Lee, so I know it’s something that several women there would be open to.”

AJ Lee is friendly with a few members of the locker room already, so her return to WWE would be very much welcomed. Only time will tell if she starts taking bumps in WWE, because she didn’t wrestle at all for WOW.

We will have to see if AJ Lee follows CM Punk. He certainly made mention of her during his WWE RAW return promo. He said that she sends her best, but he didn’t reveal anything about a WWE return at this point.
