CM Punk’s return at the Survivor Series Premium Live Event had a ripple effect of sorts as the whole pro wrestling world is still processing his return even now. It led to him appearing on NXT Deadline last night and interestingly enough, his appearance wasn’t even kept a secret backstage.

CM Punk made a surprise cameo at WWE NXT Deadline on Saturday night, where he opened the show and had a short segment with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. It was evident his cameo was simply to set the stage for the rest of the show.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, it was reported that the Second City Saint wasn’t kept hidden backstage ahead of NXT Deadline. It was said that he was free to interact with other NXT stars there.

We are told that Punk was not hidden backstage before his appearance and was available and friendly to the NXT talents backstage, many of whom he met for the first time tonight.”
