Cody Rhodes’ final match in WWE prior to him quitting wasn’t as himself. He was Stardust at the time, and he wants to leave that gimmick in the rearview mirror.

That final Stardust match happened to be a loss at a WWE house show on May 16th, 2016 against Zack Ryder. Cody Rhodes hasn’t been Stardust since, and it appears that he isn’t all about the character getting exposure.

WWE ran a shop commercial to plug their merchandise with Cody Rhodes. During that commercial, Cody Rhodes spotted a Stardust Elite Mattel action figure, and he promptly covered it up with a Roman Reigns figure.

Cody Rhodes didn’t draw any attention to what he was doing, either, so it wasn’t a bit. He probably really didn’t want Stardust on screen, and he meant business because he used Roman Reigns of all people to cover up his own former gimmick.

Before Cody Rhodes came back to WWE after that run in AEW, he asked WWE to never see the Stardust character again. That doesn’t include merchandise apparently, but Cody Rhodes isn’t going to help plug it. After all, he’s already commented how the Stardust gimmick made him millions.

You can check out the video below to see Cody Rhodes expertly cover up that Stardust action figure. As always, keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for more.
