WWE doesn’t want to lose Drew McIntyre, but it will also be very interesting to see how Endeavor handles huge contract renewals. Now, we have a bit of an update on the situation.

PW Insider reported that, as Drew McIntyre undergoes a heel turn and appears to be on the receiving end of a renewed push, questions have arisen regarding the status of his WWE contract. His current WWE deal is set to expire shortly after WrestleMania 40.

At this juncture, it seems that extensive discussions regarding a new contract have not yet taken place. WWE’s standpoint has been one of allowing ample time for negotiations to unfold.

We have heard of late that McIntyre has told those close to him that he is more than willing to let his current deal lapse if necessary and take a break for his family, as they recently suffered the loss of his wife’s sister. We are also told that McIntyre has long stated to those he’s friends with that he’d like the chance to spend some extended time back in Scotland, as it’s been many years since he’s had the chance to have more than a quick visit with his family there as he lives full-time in the United States.

It was further noted that Drew McIntyre, prioritizing family if a choice must be made between the two, appears open to letting his current contract situation play out. With approximately five months remaining before his contract expires, there remains ample time for both parties to come to an agreement. There have also been no indications of any adverse issues arising between WWE management and Drew McIntyre.

We will keep a close eye on this story, and so many more, here at Ringside News. Drew McIntyre has a huge match at Survivor Series, where he will be a part of WarGames. Only time will tell what is in his WWE future.
