Update: Ringside News has new update on this story after checking with our sources.

Original: John Cena lost a hard-fought match to Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel. Retirement rumors followed that, as he had surgery immediately afterward. Now, it seems that WWE wanted to use him for Survivor Series.

Ringside News exclusively reported that John Cena’s last return to WWE was sparked by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA Strike. That work stoppage in Hollywood is coming to an end, and Cena is needed in Hollywood the moment he can get back on set.

BWE dropped a note behind his private X accout that John Cena was considered for WarGames before Crown Jewel went down. That obviously changed, because he was needed elsewhere.

Cena was discussed to be part of WarGames pre Crown Jewel. All that changed. Cody takes lead they have full faith in the selected group. Specially after selling out Chitown.

We will have to see if John Cena is able to make his return to the ring. He has one project after another in Hollywood, and a lot of money relies on him making it to work. Only time will tell if he has another match in him, but another run like the one we just saw will be difficult to pull off.

Keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for more on this story, and so many more in the pro wrestling world. You never know what will happen next, but John Cena probably won’t be around for a while.
