WWE fans are eagerly awaiting Randy Orton’s return to the ring. With Survivor Series coming up very soon, The Viper’s name is coming up lot. That being said, not all stories going around about Orton are legit.

Randy Orton has been absent from WWE programming for approximately 18 months. Nevertheless, he is expected to return to the company in the near future, and if he does, Disco Inferno believes The Viper might be the one to challenge Roman Reigns.

During an episode of the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno expressed his belief that Gunther is not the one who will dethrone Roman Reigns. Instead, he mentioned Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Bron Breakker as potential contenders to bring an end to the historic reign of The Bloodline’s leader.

“No, he’s not [On if Gunther can dethrone Roman Reigns]. He’s not the type of guy that would get over with the fans to beat Roman [Reigns]. I don’t think, you know, I don’t think he’d have enough heel heat. I don’t think he’s the guy. That’s what I’m saying… Right now you would think Cody [Rhodes], Randy Orton if he comes back, maybe like Bron Breakker if they bring him in and give him a push, you know, those are the guys I would think are on the radar to like beat Roman.”

Sean Sapp addressed this situation, as some outlets picked up what Disco Inferno said and ran it as an actual report with WWE plans. Behind Fighful’s paywall, he shut down the idea that Orton is slated to win a major title upon his return.

In a rumor killer, there was a rumor going around wrestling Instagram pages that Randy Orton was slated to win a major title after his return, but we’ve been told that hasn’t been broached.

We will have to see when and how Randy Orton returns. He got quite a break from in-ring competition, but he deserved it. He also had back fusion surgery, and that needed to heal. Hopefully, he can make it back without any pain, and he can continue for a long time to come. Only time will tell if he picks up a title along the way, but that doesn’t seem to be in the immediate plan.

Keep checking back with Ringside News for more on this story, and so many more in the pro wrestling world. Randy Orton is likely on his way back, and that will undoubtably excite his legions of fans in the process, even if he doesn’t win a title right away.
