AEW has a lot of plans in the pipeline, but not all of those can go down due to one reason or another. Sammy Guevara is out of action with a concussion, and that called for Tony Khan to switch up his plans.

Paul Wight is set to team up with Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi for the “Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name Street Fight” scheduled for next week’s AEW on TBS broadcast.

In the latest live episode of AEW Rampage on TNT, it was revealed that Don Callis had a discussion with Prince Nana, resulting in “The Machine” Brian Cage becoming the latest member to join The Don Callis Family squad. This team now includes Powerhouse Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita, and Kyle Fletcher from Aussie Open.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Brian Cage was not originally planned to join that big match coming up. Sammy Guevara was supposed to be in the match, but plans had to change due to his concussion.

Sammy Guevara was originally planned for the Street Fight, but Brian Cage replaced him. We’re told that an original name for the match was the “Final Boss Battle” Street Fight.

Sammy Guevara has not been cleared to compete after his concussion. He could use the time off anyway, because his wife, Tay Melo, is preparing to have their first child soon. That being said, staying at home is certainly a change of plans for him.

Only time will tell when we see Sammy Guevara again. The Spanish God has a lot of stories to tell in AEW, but he needs to stay healthy as well. Hopefully, that can happen very soon, but AEW still needed to change up plans for that big match.
