Billy Corgan is the lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins, and that is a demanding job as well. He owns a pro wrestling on top of that, so he may be stretched a bit thin right now. It seems that this situation is also causing frustration within his roster of talent.

It was previously reported that the NWA may have tainted their deal with the CW over that cocaine spot at the NWA’s recent PPV event, Samhain. Then the CW was announced as NXT’s new home, starting in October 2024. Billy Corgan denied any issues over the segment. Many, including Eric Bischoff, grilled the NWA over that angle.

Haus of Wrestling reports that there is a lot of growing frustration in the NWA over Billy Corgan’s leadership. It was also noted that Corgan intends to re-sign many talents in February, but this frustration may cause them not to ink new deals.

Haus of Wrestling was also told that several NWA contracts are set to come up in June and that Corgan intends to start conversations to re-sign many of them in February. Some of those talents are frustrated by Corgan’s leadership and are already looking into other places they can work when their deals are done in hopes of not having to re-sign. WWE announcing a deal to bring NXT to The CW next year has not helped with how talent feels about re-signing.

It was also reported that “Billy Corgan withdrew from those close to him yesterday and did not want to discuss the situation” after news of NXT going to The CW broke.

The NWA is getting the wrong kind of attention right now, but it is also sparking a new interest in the company. We will have to see if Billy Corgan can turn this situation around, because it appears that there may be issues in the locker room right now.

Billy Corgan surprised many pro wrestling fans when he bought the NWA. The company had a nice following starting out, but they may have lost some of those die-hard fans with the new direction that the company is going in as well.
