Rey Mysterio is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, and his influence in the industry is undeniable. He comes from a distinguished line of luchadors, as he is proud of his family heritage. Unfortunately, a mural paying tribute to Mysterio’s family got removed recently.

According to CBS8, a wall along the corner of Imperial Avenue and 30th Street was covered in a piece of art that paid tribute to Rey Mysterio’s family. The mural artist, Daniel Angeles, made the art back in February for the San Diego community.

The Mural represented the three generations of the Mysterio family – Rey Mysterio Sr., Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio. While speaking to CBS, Daniel Angeles admitted he was concerned about the future of the mural after the business the wall belonged to went up for sale.

Angeles then tried to contact the new owner to tell him about the history of the mural. However, Angeles discovered that the mural was already painted over, which saddened him.

It made me concerned of the future of the wall. It took me a second to accept that it was gone.

It’s called the CAPA, the California Arts Protection Act and what that dictates is that an owner can’t destroy murals without going through the procedures of reaching out to the artist and coming on to an agreement where both can be happy.”

Rey Mysterio also lost the United States Championship to Logan Paul at the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live event. We will have to wait and see what’s next in store for the masked luchador.
