WWE is capping off 2023 with a big business booming period, and new television rights deals are also coming next year. This worked out to be perfect timing for WWE, and their flagship television show’s future also hangs in the balance.

WWE’s programming rights for Raw, NXT, and SmackDown are set to expire next year. Currently, Raw and NXT are under deals with the USA Network, while SmackDown is broadcast on FOX. WWE is parting ways with FOX and has inked a new five-year agreement to bring SmackDown back to the USA Network.

This transition is slated to take place in October 2024, ensuring that the blue brand remains on the network until 2029. As previously reported, with SmackDown’s return to the USA Network, it is unlikely that the network will renew the rights for Raw and NXT. However, it doesn’t completely rule out the possibility if both parties can reach an agreement that suits their interests, considering their long-standing relationship.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that there are a few front-runners to get RAW. At the end of the day, this could result in a big change for the red brand.

“They’re doing their earnings report tomorrow, by the way, and it should be noted that as far as the rumors of Raw, it looks the rumor mill right now has either FX, WB [Warner Bros. Discovery, which would be a very crazy situation. But I think it’s a long shot, too, and USA. But the analysts believe that they’re going to get a 42% increase, which may not drop the stock because it’s down lower than it probably should be. But it won’t help them. But they will be more profitable. The UFC and WWE earnings report will be out tomorrow.”

We will have to see where everything is when the deals are done. Obviously, a lot of things can change in this situation. WWE RAW is a huge property, and there are several prospective homes for the red brand at this point.

The big question is where WWE RAW and NXT will land. We already know that the USA Network are getting RAW in 2024. That could limit the possibilities that they will also retain RAW and NXT. Then again, stranger things have happened in pro wrestling.
