Tony Khan has made a few interesting, and controversial, booking decisions since AEW opened their doors. Although MJF and Kenny Omega delivered in big way during their main event match on the October 28th Collision, a number of fans still criticized AEW’s decision to put that match on with such little promotion on free television. It also didn’t seem to help AEW Collision’s viewership at all. Mark Henry has heard all the critiques, and now he is speaking his mind on the matter.

On this week’s Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer and AEW broadcaster Mark Henry discussed the AEW Collision match between MJF and Kenny Omega for the World Title, sharing his critique on the booking of the matchup.

Mark Henry would have to agree with those fans who believe that a match with the caliber of MJF vs Kenny Omega needed to be on a show that fans paid money to watch, and not free television with a two-day build.

“There’s no way that should have been free. I would have charged everybody to see that [laughs]. That’s a dream match. It had pay-per-view written all over it — unbelievable from beginning to end, and somebody like a Kenny Omega almost deserves the pay-per-view platform. Maxwell, as good as he is, I even see there’s room for improvement — he’s going to be so much better in the next two to three years. His psychology is tremendous, and his ability to captivate the audiences and pull people in … for a young guy, he’s beyond his years. Absolutely incredible.”

Kenny Omega and MJF brought it all in their Collision encounter, and many fans praised their efforts. Fans may have also paid $50 to see that match at the company’s November pay-per-view, since Full Gear is coming on November 18th at the Kia Forum in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood, California.

We will have complete coverage of AEW Full Gear’s build, however Tony Khan goes about things. This is a sensitive subject for some people, but it’s also impossible to argue that MJF vs Kenny Omega is a match that deserves attention. Let’s see if they run it again, and AEW puts it on pay-per-view next time around.
