Traci extended her gratitude to Gail Kim and all the Knockouts, both past and present, for making the women’s division in wrestling the best in the business. She individually thanked ODB, Jackie Moore, Christy Hemme, Socal Val, Mickie James, Molly Holly, and many others who had a significant impact on her career over the years.

X-Division Champion Chris Sabin vs. KENTA

The entrances for the X Division Championship match began. Hannifan highlighted that Kenta had gone undefeated for the past three months, with the last person to pin him being Kazuchika Okada…

The match got off to an exciting start, with both KENTA and Sabin delivering some intense action. Within just a few minutes, KENTA sported a bloodied lip as a result of the physicality.

Sabin initially took control, but he was abruptly cut off on the outside and forcefully shoved backward into the ring apron. Upon returning to the ring, KENTA applied a side headlock and unleashed a barrage of kicks on Sabin. Sabin found himself taken down and trapped once again in KENTA’s side headlock. However, Sabin fought back with a series of forearm strikes and then executed a well-timed leg lariat.

Sabin attempted a charging elbow in the corner but missed, only to recover with a forearm strike and a missile dropkick from the top rope.

Sabin then followed up with a running boot in the corner and executed a tornado DDT, securing a two-count pin attempt. KENTA retaliated with a tornado DDT of his own, snapping Sabin across the top rope. KENTA tried to finish it off with a top-rope maneuver, but Sabin managed to kick out at two.

KENTA then delivered a powerful running dropkick in the corner and climbed to the top turnbuckle for a stomp. However, Sabin rolled out of harm’s way, allowing KENTA to stomp nothing but canvas. Sabin capitalized on the opportunity by hitting a well-timed step-up enziguiri. He attempted to execute his signature Cradleshock maneuver, but KENTA cleverly used the referee as a shield to escape. KENTA continued the assault with a series of strikes and a DDT, followed by a significant double stomp, which earned him a close two-count near fall.

As the match reached its climax, KENTA attempted to execute his devastating Go To Sleep (GTS) finisher, but Sabin managed to slip out of it. KENTA responded by unleashing a barrage of hard-hitting strikes and slaps on Sabin, trying to regain control.

However, Sabin countered with a stunning kick that left KENTA momentarily dazed. Seizing the opportunity, Sabin quickly set up for his finishing move, the Cradleshock.

In a dramatic turn of events, they found themselves in the corner, and Sabin took advantage, cleaning house with a powerful clothesline. With KENTA reeling, Sabin successfully executed the Cradleshock, securing the pinfall victory.

The result: Your winner and still X-Division Champion, Chris Sabin!

Steve Maclin vs. PCO vs. Rhino vs. Moose

The competitors had endured a grueling 24-hour period without access to food, water, or light, and their physical condition was visibly weakened.

As the match began, Maclin launched a surprise attack on Rhino as he was making his entrance. However, Moose quickly intervened, using his Feast or Fired Briefcase to attack both Maclin and Rhino. PCO made his entrance last, and the chaos escalated immediately.

PCO delivered a punishing Cactus clothesline to Maclin, sending him over the top rope and crashing onto a ladder positioned on the floor, resulting in a brutal impact. The ring quickly became a battleground filled with various weapons and objects.

Maclin continued to wreak havoc by using a trash can to wipe out everyone in his path. He followed up with a spinebuster, slamming Moose into the can that was placed in the corner. Maclin then demonstrated his ruthlessness by executing a suplex on PCO, sending him crashing onto the broken ladder outside the ring.

Amidst the mayhem, Maclin unleashed a relentless assault with a chair, repeatedly striking his opponents. However, he miscalculated one of his chair shots, hitting the ropes and inadvertently injuring himself in the process.

Seizing the opportunity, PCO fought back by chokeslamming Maclin and then launched himself with a tope con hilo, diving over the top rope and crashing onto Rhino on the outside. The match was characterized by its intense and high-impact moments, with each competitor pushing their limits in pursuit of victory.

PCO displayed incredible resilience and strength as he caught Maclin and delivered a lung blower, followed by a legdrop from the ropes. He continued to unleash a barrage of chest-thumping shots on Maclin. PCO then nailed the Deanimator from the top rope, crashing down across Maclin, showing his dominance in the chaotic encounter. Moose attempted to halt PCO’s momentum with an attack, but PCO refused to stay down, keeping the match filled with entertaining mayhem.

Moose took things to a sadistic level by introducing thumbtacks and spreading them over a group of cinderblocks on the floor. He then powerbombed PCO onto the thumbtacks, subjecting him to an excruciating and painful experience.

Maclin capitalized on the opportunity and struck Moose with the SCUD missile before tossing him back into the ring. Maclin hung Moose upside down and connected with the Crosshairs. He followed up with an attempt at the KIA, but Rhino intervened and broke it up. The crowd eagerly chanted for Rhino to deliver his signature move, the Gore, but Rhino had different plans and called for tables instead. He retrieved a barbed wire-wrapped table and set it up in the aisle, indicating his intention to inflict even more pain.

However, Maclin took advantage of the situation by attacking Rhino and slamming him into the ring post. Maclin then ruthlessly targeted Rhino’s leg, repeatedly striking it with a chair. The situation took a shocking turn when Bully Ray made an appearance, and as Maclin climbed to the top rope, Ray shoved him backward off the ropes, causing him to crash through the barbed wire table. The impact was brutal, and it looked like a devastating crash. Bully Ray taunted Maclin, asking him who was soft now, and then walked away, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.

In the aftermath of the chaotic encounter, Moose and PCO, with tacks still embedded in his head, continued their battle inside the ring. The two warriors exchanged blows and maneuvers, demonstrating their resilience and determination despite the brutal punishment they had endured.

At one point, Moose was hit with a DDT, but he managed to cut off PCO with a chair as PCO attempted to ascend to the top rope for a high-risk move. Moose wielded the chair menacingly, but before he could strike, he was suddenly gored by Rhino. However, in the process of delivering the Gore, Rhino unintentionally knocked himself out by hitting the chair.

Seizing the opportunity, PCO climbed to the top rope and nailed a swanton bomb on Moose, securing the pinfall victory.

The surprising result: Your winner, PCO!

This outcome was unexpected as PCO was rumored to be on his way out. Nonetheless, the match delivered an exceptionally entertaining and fun hardcore showdown, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

Bey furthered his offense with a Brainbuster on Wentz, nearly securing the victory. Wentz avoided a dive from Bey, and Ace tagged back in. ABC combined their efforts with a devastating Disaster Kick-TKO combo, but Wentz managed to kick out at two.

Wentz evaded an assisted Cutter attempt and delivered a PK (penalty kick). Trey catapulted Ace into Wentz’s superkick, followed by a double stomp. Wentz then gave Bey a diving attack on the outside.

Chris Bey intervened with a dive of his own, breaking up Trey’s pinfall attempt. Amidst the excitement and adrenaline, Trey introduced a spray paint can into the match, but a mishap occurred as Wentz accidentally sprayed Trey in the face with paint.

Ace and Bey regained control, hitting both of their opponents with Savate Kicks. Bey executed an assisted cutter, and Ace followed up with The Fold to secure the victory and become the new Impact Tag Team Champions.

Result: ABC defeated The Rascalz via pinfall to become the new Impact Tag Team Champions.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Trinity vs. Mickie James

The match began with both women engaging in a display of respectful chain wrestling. Hannifan pointed out that Trinity had arrived in Chicago ahead of time to train at a local wrestling school, showing her dedication to the match. Trinity managed to execute the first slam of the contest and secured a two-count with a backslide pin attempt. However, James thwarted Trinity’s Starstruck move. Notably, Trinity’s boots were equipped with lightbulbs, adding a unique element to the bout.

A Test of Strength ensued between Mickie and Trinity, with Mickie gaining the upper hand. Trinity skillfully reversed the pressure with a bridge but remained in the Test of Strength position as Mickie slammed her to the mat. Trinity resiliently kicked out while still trapped in the Test of Strength. Trinity later reversed the situation with a Thesz Press and followed up with a split-leg drop for a nearfall. Mickie managed to kick out of multiple pin attempts stemming from the Test of Strength.

As Mickie got to her feet, she delivered a striking combination to Trinity. Trinity evaded a lariat with a matrix dodge, but Mickie caught her with a Superkick for a nearfall. Trinity responded with a well-executed Disaster Kick. Both women then traded huracanranas and engaged in a heated exchange of fighting spirit strikes in the center of the ring. They dodged each other’s strikes and simultaneously took each other down with stereo crossbodies. Hannifan pointed out that this move might have aggravated Mickie’s rib injury, which had previously forced her to relinquish the Knockouts title.

Both competitors managed to beat the referee’s ten-count, preventing a countout. They continued to exchange forearm strikes in the center of the ring. Trinity caught Mickie with a Rear View for a two-count. She followed up with a standing stink face, to which Mickie responded by playfully licking her fingers and forming a V sign. The match continued with a series of roll-up attempts by both women. Trinity landed an enzuigiri on Mickie and then executed a split-legged Moonsault for another two-count.

Mickie threw Trinity into the corner and hit her with the Mick Kick, but Trinity kicked out at the last moment. Mickie managed to hit Trinity with a Tornado DDT for a nearfall.

Mickie avoided an X Factor from Trinity and attempted a roll-up, which seemed like a possible botch. Both competitors then exchanged high kicks. Mickie tossed Trinity onto the apron and executed a draping Pedigree, a move Rehwoldt noted was borrowed from Trinity. The referee checked on the seemingly unconscious Trinity. However, Trinity reversed a Mick DT attempt with a shove and locked Mickie in the Starstruck submission hold. Mickie tried to escape by rolling up Trinity, but Trinity adjusted her position to maintain the submission. Eventually, Mickie was forced to tap out.

Trinity defeated Mickie James via submission, successfully retaining the Impact Knockouts Championship.

In the backstage area, Moose made it clear that he intended to vie for the World title at the upcoming Hard to Kill event.

Impact Wrestling Championship: Alex Shelly vs Josh Alexander

A Tale of the Tape segment was broadcast, providing a comparison of the two competitors in the World Title Match. Following this, the entrances for the World Title Match took place, with Dave Penzer conducting the formal in-ring championship introductions.

The match saw a continuous exchange of wrestling maneuvers as both competitors carefully assessed each other, aiming to avoid any critical errors. Shelley managed to seize control and skillfully manipulated his opponent’s fingers and joints, asserting his dominance in the bout.

The match between Alexander and Shelley commenced amidst the crowd’s alternating chants, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The initial stages of the bout consisted of ground chain wrestling, with both competitors attempting to gain an advantage while avoiding costly mistakes. This back-and-forth wrestling eventually led to a stalemate. Shelley took control by applying a wristlock, but Alexander countered with a wristlock slam. Shelley responded with a rope-assisted hammerlock, showcasing his technical prowess. They also countered each other’s finishers, with Shelley wisely grabbing the ropes to thwart an ankle lock attempt.

Shelley took a brief respite at ringside before returning to the ring and employing a side headlock on Alexander. Alexander managed to break free by forcing Shelley against the ropes and, in turn, applied a side headlock of his own. Shelley used his boots to extricate himself from the hold and then focused on manipulating Alexander’s joints. He almost pinned Alexander’s shoulders to the mat for a two-count before delivering a disrespectful right hand. However, Alexander rebounded with a shoulder tackle.

Shelley countered with a series of paintbrush boots, but Alexander swiftly retaliated with a chop. Hannifan pointed out that Alexander had not lost a singles match in two years, except for his defeat to Moose for the World Title at Bound for Glory 2021. Alexander continued his offensive by executing a big elbow and a big boot, culminating in a one-count pin attempt. He further worked on Shelley with a butterfly stretch.

Shelley managed to escape the hold, placing Alexander on the apron, and executed a jawbreaker. Shelley then targeted Alexander’s arm with a slingshot stomp. However, Alexander gained the upper hand by slamming Shelley’s legs into the apron and subsequently subjected him to a buckle-assisted Figure Four submission.

Both competitors engaged in a sequence of counters in the corner, during which Shelley removed the buckle cover. Alexander unleashed a barrage of suplexes on Shelley, who responded with a slap and an enzuigiri. Rehwoldt and Hannifan noted that Shelley deliberately aimed his kick at Alexander’s arm. Shelley then transitioned into La Mistica, followed by a Border City Stretch, but Alexander managed to reach the bottom rope for a rope break. Shelley appeared unfazed by Alexander’s right hands and reversed a Shell Shock attempt with a neckbreaker.

Shelley continued to apply pressure by subjecting Alexander to a straitjacket stretch, converting it into a backstabber. Alexander countered Shelley’s PK and gained a brief respite after landing a clothesline. Both competitors executed quick counters, with Alexander concluding the sequence with a Belly-to-Belly suplex on Shelley. Shelley used a series of kicks to block Alexander’s advances and delivered an STO into the bottom buckle, marking 17 minutes into the match.

Shelley executed a Snap German Suplex and attempted Sliced Bread, which Alexander countered into a Bridged Chaos Theory for a nearfall. Shelley kept a low base to prevent a C4 Spike and reached the ropes for a break. Alexander struck Shelley with a Dragon Screw against the ropes. Shelley, however, thwarted Alexander’s crossbody at ringside and executed Shell Shocked into the guardrail.

Back in the ring, Shelley hit Alexander with a Sliced Bread at ringside and then tossed him to break the countout. Shelley followed up with a Frog Splash for a two-count. He quickly transitioned into a Border City Stretch, but Alexander managed to break free with a rollup and locked Shelley in an Ankle Lock, grapevining Shelley’s leg. Shelley escaped with overhead slaps and countered with a PK to Alexander’s back.

Both competitors exchanged fatigued strikes and holds, clearly worn down by the intense contest. They even traded discus elbows and managed to evade each other’s finisher attempts. In a crucial moment, Shelley caught Alexander with Shell Shocked, followed by a Superkick and another Shell Shocked for a clean and decisive victory.

In the end, Alex Shelley defeated Josh Alexander via pinfall to successfully retain the Impact World Championship.

Hannifan astutely observed that Shelley had solidified his championship reign by defeating the man who had never lost the title. Following the match, Alexander displayed a remarkable show of sportsmanship as he knelt in the ring and extended his hand for a handshake. Shelley graciously accepted the gesture, and the two competitors shared a heartfelt hug. Alexander then reverently placed the championship belt on Alex Shelley, signifying the passing of the torch. Shelley celebrated his title victory with elation, while Alexander, filled with respect, took a seat in the corner of the ring to reflect on the match and his time as champion.
