WWE saw a huge shift in its climate when Triple H took control its creative direction. The Game was “knighted” by Endeavor, and now he is making 99.9% of the shots. That leaves Vince McMahon out of the conversation, and it appears that Superstar loyalty is already with their new leader.

Triple H ran NXT for years as Vince McMahon controlled the main roster. Many fans wondered what it would be like if Triple H was finally handed the book for WWE, and that happened, but it wasn’t without a ton of controversies, a scandal, and a merger.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that some WWE Superstars were “loyal to Levesque” through this time, as they saw that the company’s real booming period started when he took the reins over its creative direction.

“Almost everyone would say it’s more of a good thing than a bad thing. From those with knowledge of the creative situation, prior to the merger going through and McMahon taking a medical leave, he was making changes in the shows, particularly Raw, fairly regularly.”

At times, they were viewed as positive, and at times they were not. But they did get in the way of the long-term vision long-term of the creative team. Much of the talent, certainly most of whom we’ve heard from, felt it was better when McMahon wasn’t involved and were loyal to Levesque. The company’s comeback did start under McMahon coming out of WrestleMania, but there’s no doubt it accelerated greatly in late 2022, during the period McMahon wasn’t with the company.”

But business remained strong when McMahon returned. While one can point to Raw ratings being well down from last year, that’s largely due to football competition being stronger. Smackdown and NXT remain strong in the ratings, the arena business remains strong. Big events are selling tickets quickly at continually higher prices and many markets continue to set gross records. To the public the only real difference would be that a lower percentage of what is advertised in advance for television changes without McMahon in the mix. Some still changes that is not injury related, but it is less than before.”

We will have to see what WWE does next. They already have several top feuds in the pipeline for the future, and there is no shortage of big cards to book those matches.

We will keep our eye on this story, and many more, in this situation. Obviously, everything in WWE could always change at a moment’s notice, but right now, Triple H seems very comfortable in his position.
