Bray Wyatt was getting the ball rolling on a new storyline when he was taken off television on the road to WrestleMania 39. That Bobby Lashley match was scrapped, but there are still rumors out there that Uncle Howdy may return. Sadly, the chances of that happening are seemingly slim.

While Bo Dallas hasn’t participated in a WWE match since 2019, he was the person portraying the Uncle Howdy character in those Bray Wyatt angles. Unfortunately, the storyline was abandoned following the untimely passing of Bray Wyatt at the young age of 36.

During a Q&A segment on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about any updates on Dallas making future appearances. Meltzer speculated that while it remains a possibility, fans shouldn’t anticipate it. As of now, it seems unlikely that Uncle Howdy will return.

“I think he’s done. I mean, the only reason he was even being used was as a favor to Bray Wyatt. So I mean, it’s possible they’ll use him, but I don’t expect him to be back.”

Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE never even got as far as booking Bray Wyatt vs Uncle Howdy as part of their plan. Sadly, Wyatt was taken off television before anything like that could be arranged.

Ringside News was later told by a tenured member of the creative team that Triple H “is always open to ideas from the writers, and there are always ideas regarding different talents.” That being said, Triple H has not shut down hearing ideas that would bring Uncle Howdy back to television. That doesn’t mean it is going to happen, but the idea is not out of the realm of possibility.

It was later reported that WWE has kicked around ideas about bringing the Firefly Fun House and/or Uncle Howdy back as a tribute to Bray Wyatt. We will have to see what comes of that idea, but you never know what can happen next in WWE.

Bray Wyatt left so many creative ideas on the table, and it is painful to think about this incredible loss. Our thoughts still go out to JoJo Offerman, Bray’s children, and his entire family as they still cope with this terrible loss.
