WWE has certainly seen a lot of changes in the last few weeks, as Triple H has been reportedly “knighted” by Endeavor, and he is spearheading the company’s creative direction. Things aren’t changing at the last minute anymore, because Vince McMahon is not calling the shots, and this led to a big upswing.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that a multitude of talent returning to the show, long-tenured wrestlers finally making their debuts, various cameos, increased screen time for women’s talent, extended matches, and fewer ring restrictions are all signs that Triple H is in power now, and these changes are expected to continue.

According to WWE sources cited by Fightful, these changes are expected to continue, and the adjustments appeared to happen rapidly. Even though Vince McMahon didn’t directly engage with creative this year, his influence was notable during that time, particularly concerning the inclusion or exclusion of certain individuals on the show.

It was noted that there is a feeling that matches like Ivar and Kofi Kingston, Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura and GUNTHER and Bronson Reed “were very important in establishing the in-ring aspect of WWE Raw.”

While one writer had said that many of the Vince McMahon changes were minimal throughout the year, we’re told that the adjustments have freshened up things and relaxed the process now that Raw has a much more wide open roster of talent to implement and use. Outside of Raw After Mania (which internally was viewed as a creative disaster), McMahon wasn’t making changes in person, instead doing it remotely. Even though there was a long reputation of Vince making last minute changes, it would also happen throughout the weekend, as we saw with the nixed DIY reunion from the Summer. When McMahon would learn the creative plans, remote adjustments would be made along the way, and he would indicate wrestlers he did or didn’t want on the show.

One writer reportedly said “well, I guess he wasn’t lying when he said he wasn’t in the weeds, but in a way, he just sprayed roundup on the weeds and checked in on them every so often.”

We will have to keep an eye on things as they progress in WWE. This is an exciting time for fans, because you never know what will happen next. Triple H and his crew are certainly delivering a new level of content.
