This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown is set to be a big episode. Roman Reigns will return to the blue brand, marking the first time we’ve seen him in months. That being said, WWE wanted to make sure his return was part of a big show.

WWE loves to arrange their schedule so big appearances align with special episodes. This week’s edition of SmackDown will probably be a show worth watching for any pro wrestling fan.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE actually held back plans to hold the SmackDown season premiere. That episode will also include a special appearance from Triple H, which was saved for his big show.

“The 10/13 Smackdown is billed as the new season opener. Normally that would be the first show in October, but they were waiting until after the PPV for Reigns returning, plus a special appearance by HHH making an announcement. The only match announced was the return of Pretty Deadly vs. Butch & Holland. Elton Price was injured taking a pounce from Holland and landing on his shoulder, so they are playing it up that Holland was the one who hurt him. Rhodes & Jey Uso will also defend the tag titles in an open challenge.”
